life sciences, is looking for a "Scientist
II” based out of Pleasanton,
CA.

The Scientist II will
be a member of the Pharma Services/Research and Early Development Team in
Pleasanton to support clinical sample processing which includes DNA extraction,
library preparation, target enrichment and Next Generation Sequencing. The successful
candidate will also design, plan and execute assigned research and/or
development-related experiments/projects utilizing established and innovative
procedures, while applying scientific knowledge and accumulated experience to
complete projects. We are looking for an experienced laboratory scientist who
not only can meticulously process samples but can also analyze data, evaluate
results, form conclusions and document process improvements.
We need someone
experienced in wet-lab work, someone who knows how to use different pipettes
(single/multichannel) and use them for high-throughput sample processing.
Multichannel pipetting into 384 is a plus. 5 years is a good amount of time to
be exposed to different equipment, learn lab etiquette for shared spaces,
general lab safety protocols. Someone who can be independent once project scope
is set.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- Strong hands-on lab
skills, almost all the assays are manual. They should have done manual lab work
doing benchwork within last year. Strong organization/data keeping skills as we
keep records of process/reagent information both on GoogleDrive and electronic
lab notebook.
