Job Description

As a Sales Development Manager, you'll lead, coach, and develop a growing team of SDRs (currently 4, with continued growth planned) responsible for generating pipeline and new opportunities for Slide. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has been in the SDR seat, successfully led SDR teams, and understands the MSP channel. You'll stay close to the work through coaching, messaging, and hands-on support while using data, AI, and new approaches to continuously improve how the team performs and generates pipeline. You'll partner closely with the Regional Sales Manager, Hunters, and Marketing to build a high-performing team and scale our outbound motion as Slide grows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, recruit, and develop a growing SDR team, with accountability for team performance, pipeline generation, and scaling the function as Slide grows.

  • Stay close to the day-to-day work through call coaching, prospecting support, messaging development, role-playing, and hands-on participation when needed.

  • Build a culture of trust and accountability, providing regular, direct feedback and addressing performance issues when expectations aren't being met.

  • Understand each SDR's strengths and development areas and tailor coaching to improve prospecting, communication, rapport building, storytelling, and objection handling.

  • Track and analyze key SDR metrics, including activity, conversion rates, meeting quality, pipeline generated, and ramp time, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Use performance data to diagnose challenges and improve coaching, targeting, messaging, processes, and team execution.

  • Identify and implement practical ways to use AI and emerging sales technology to improve prospecting, personalization, coaching, and team productivity.

  • Partner closely with Hunters, Marketing, and Sales leadership to improve lead quality, handoffs, targeting, messaging, and account coverage.

  • Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to align goals, forecast pipeline, assess team performance, and evolve the SDR organization as Slide grows.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of progressive experience across sales development and sales leadership, including firsthand experience as an SDR/BDR.

  • 3+ years of experience directly managing and coaching SDRs/BDRs, with demonstrated success improving individual and team performance.

  • Direct experience selling into the MSP/channel ecosystem, with a strong understanding of MSP buyers and channel dynamics.

  • Experience leading SDRs in a startup or high-growth environment, with a track record of building and improving processes as the organization scales.

  • Proven ability to coach SDRs across prospecting, messaging, objection handling, rapport building, and storytelling.

  • Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust, give direct feedback, and hold people accountable.

  • Strong analytical mindset and experience using funnel and performance data to identify problems and improve results.

  • Experience using AI and modern sales technology to improve prospecting, personalization, coaching, or team productivity.

  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM; HubSpot experience strongly preferred.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment.

  • Ability to work 3 day/week from Orange, CA office with occasional travel to Westport, CT headquarters

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.

  • Paid Time Off: Generous paid time off and holiday schedule.

  • Retirement Plan: 401(k)

  • Professional Development: Opportunities for training and professional growth.

  • The opportunity to do your life's work in a dynamic and creative environment with like-minded individuals.
