About the company
Our client is a fast-growing technology company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Establish and lead the security function for an engineering organization, while also pitching in on shared platform engineering. The role combines hands-on cloud security architecture, automation and embedding safeguards into how software gets built. It is an early, high-ownership position with broad freedom to shape practices.
What you'll do
- Stand up cloud and production security controls from scratch, with a phased 30/60/90 day roadmap.
- Write code that automates previously manual security tasks, such as spotting, handling and closing out incidents.
- Protect confidential data pipelines and the interfaces through which models are accessed.
- Support shared platform and infrastructure engineering efforts when security priorities allow.
- Add automated security checks to the development process while keeping release speed high.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 4 to 7 years of experience in security and infrastructure engineering.
- Application and cloud security background at a startup or an established company with a demanding hiring bar.
- Solid skills as an infrastructure or full-stack software engineer, with a record of shipping production code.
- A path from software engineering into security is an ideal profile.
- Strong cloud security knowledge on GCP or AWS, covering IAM, networking and containers.
- Experience building security systems in-house rather than only configuring off-the-shelf tools.
- Undergraduate degree completed in the US, Canada or Europe.
Bonus points
- Prior experience as the first or one of the first security hires at a startup.
- Computer science degree from a highly ranked undergraduate program.
- Background in environments where confidentiality requirements are especially strict.
