Own and grow a portfolio of broker relationships in the western market: drive producer acquisition and submissions, convert leads to binds quickly, optimize and manage your book, and train brokers to place more and better risk with Stand.
The summary above was generated by AI

Why Join Stand: At Stand, you’ll help build a new class of global property protection. We use advanced physics and AI to model catastrophic risk at the asset level, then automate underwriting and mitigation before loss occurs. Insurance is simply the current delivery mechanism. The real product is a scalable risk engine, our Stand World Model.

We stay when traditional insurers exit. We model what others approximate. And we build systems that change outcomes, not just prices.
Our leadership team includes former successful founders and CEOs from Metromile, PolicyGenius, WePay, and HotelTonight, bringing deep experience in building and scaling high-growth companies.

Background: The property insurance industry is built to price loss after it happens. It relies on coarse proxies, backward-looking data, and manual processes, then accepts damage as unavoidable.

Stand takes a different approach. We simulate how real-world catastrophes affect individual properties, translate that into actionable decisions, and automate the business around it. The result is a platform that can underwrite what others can’t and operate with far less friction.

The role

You own a portfolio of broker relationships in your western market and you build the business through them. You grow the number of producers sending you business, convert their submissions fast and clean, and manage your book like an owner. You become the preferred choice at the brokerages you cover, so they commit real volume to Stand. And as brokers move toward self-binding, you become their teacher: the person who makes them better at placing good risk with us.

What you will own
  • Grow the top of the funnel. More producers, more submissions per producer. This is the most important part of the role.

  • Convert with speed and discipline. Run the deal from lead to quote to bind. Nothing goes stale.

  • Optimize your portfolio. Lean into the best producers, build spread and depth, win committed volume.

  • Educate and train your brokers. Make them better, and bring their voice back into Stand.

What you bring
  • 6+ years in commercial roles with a record of achievement. Sales titles are not required.

  • You love selling and see yourself as commercial. You have won complex, high-stakes deals, whether in sales, partnerships, fundraising, or consulting.

  • You understand channel sales and B2B.

  • Blinding urgency and a need to win.

  • Owner instinct. You take the problem and run with it. You ramp fast and stay flexible when everything changes.

  • Insatiable curiosity and a sense of what is possible.

  • Team-first. No lone wolves. You believe in what we are building.

  • P&C or HNW experience is a plus, not a requirement.

This is not the right seat if you
  • Need a defined lane, a playbook, or heavy structure.

  • Only know how to work a queue you are handed.

  • Coast on old contacts instead of building new ones.

Compensation:

OTE $250K to $280K. True 50/50 base and variable. Uncapped upside.

Full bonus support through ramp.
Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Benefits:

  • Above-market Health, Dental, and Vision coverage

  • Weekly lunch stipend

  • Flexible time off + holidays

  • 401(k) plan

  • Commuter benefits

  • PAT & MAT Leave

  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

  • Monthly team gatherings

  • In-office perks

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
