What You'll Do
- Own and drive the account management for California state and local government accounts, with revenue growth as the primary measure of success
- Leverage existing, named relationships within California state and/or local government agencies to open doors and accelerate deal cycles
- Identify new business opportunities, upsell or cross Speridian capabiltieis, respond to RFPs/RFIs, and develop capture strategies for target accounts
- Build and maintain relationships with government consulting firms that influence or advise on state/local procurement
- Represent Speridian at industry events, government conferences, and vendor days across California
- Partner with delivery and engagement leadership to ensure proposed solutions are credible, deliverable, and aligned with agency needs
- Provide accurate pipeline forecasting and account planning to sales leadership
- Stay current on California state and local government budget cycles, procurement vehicles, and policy priorities relevant to IT/technology services
- Demonstrated, specific relationships within California state and/or local government — candidates must be able to speak to who they know (by name and agency/department) and the nature of those relationships
- Prior experience as an account representative, engagement manager, or delivery manager supporting the State of California, ideally with a large systems integrator (SI)
- A track record of selling into public sector accounts, not just managing delivery of existing contracts
- Existing relationships with government consulting firms serving California state/local government is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of California state and local government procurement processes (e.g., RFPs, master service agreements, CMAS, GSA schedules, etc.)
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and executive presence with government stakeholders
- Willingness to travel regularly within California (Sacramento and key local government hubs)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 8+ years in public sector sales, account management, or delivery, with at least 3-5 years specific to California state/local government
