Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 annually

Position Description:

The Senior Accounting Manager is a strategic accounting leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s multi-entity accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls. This role partners closely with the CFO to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes. In addition to managing the daily accounting function, the Senior Accounting Manager develops accounting staff, drives operational efficiencies, supports strategic initiatives, and serves as a key resource during audits, system implementations, and financial planning activities.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive technical accounting expertise, strong leadership abilities, and experience managing complex accounting operations within a multi-location organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Lease Accounting.
  • Direct and continuously improve the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, trial balances, and financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, lease accounting, and related reconciliations.

2. Financial Planning & Business Partnership

  • Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis, operational insights, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Support the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology, and other departments to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment.

3. Compliance, Controls & Audit

  • Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with current U.S. GAAP standards, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Leases), and future accounting pronouncements.
  • Coordinate external audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and serving as the primary accounting contact for auditors.
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements, including sales tax filings, annual 1099 reporting, and other regulatory filings.

4. Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and enhanced financial controls across accounting operations.
  • Evaluate and implement ERP enhancements, financial systems, and accounting technology solutions.

5. Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor, coach, and develop accounting staff through performance management, training, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.

6. Strategic Initiatives

  • Support acquisitions, business initiatives, and other strategic projects.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Experience managing accounting operations within a multi-entity or multi-location organization required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience overseeing month-end closure, financial statement preparation, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor, develop, and motivate accounting professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound business judgment.

  • MAXIMUM 20 GALLONS AND 2 FILL UPS PER WEEK
