Description

Job Summary/Objective:

The Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst, Commercial Operations will support the commercial business by managing and maintaining key sales and marketing processes and providing ad hoc analyses to help drive commercial management decisions. This position will work closely with the sales team, marketing team, and other departments as well as external partners to ensure that all operations are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage, administer and serve as the subject matter expert related to the company’s CRM (Veeva).
  • Collaborate with external partners like Veeva and Trinity Healthcare (data integrator) to manage the data shared between the company CRM system and data warehouse/MDM system.
  • Work closely with field-based organization to maintain and update HCP profile information and alignment within the MDM system.
  • Build, modify, and maintain CRM interfaces utilized by the field-based organization.
  • Support the deployment of MLR approved materials through the company CRM.
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret CRM data to provide actionable insights.
  • Conduct periodic ad hoc analyses to support commercial decision-making.
  • Comprehend sales patterns and analyze areas for potential sales improvement.
  • Respond to commercial organization requests for information or analyses.
  • Facilitate the adoption and management of Omnichannel Promotional efforts across marketing and sales team
  • Support and educate the field on Artificial Intelligence initiatives such as Next Best Action, Predictive Alerts, and Omnichannel Orchestration 
  • Develop automated reporting mechanisms to provide executive and field insights into ways to improve sales effectiveness  

Competency (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Must have an excellent understanding and solid experience using CRM (Veeva) as well as be proficient in Tableau and/or PowerBI.
  • Must be able to think critically, solve problems efficiently, and assist with identifying solutions that improve the sales process and contribute to the bottom line.
  • Must know basic statistical terms and be able to build and explain graphs, charts, data tables.
  • Must know how data is fundamentally structured, stored, processed, displayed and consumed.
  • Must be skilled in using data analysis tools and software (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
  • Must be comfortable explaining trends and applying basic math functions.
  • Must have excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Office Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Spends approximately 90% of work time sitting and meeting with others or working at a desk and/or computer. Spends approximately 10% of work time standing or walking within the work area or at meetings and bends, twists, stoops and reaches. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to ten pounds. Working conditions are normal for an office environment. The noise level is usually moderate.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Overnight travel required? Yes

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (industrial, mechanical, electrical), computer science, math, applied statistics, economics, or data science.
  • A minimum of 5 years' work experience in data analysis in life sciences or related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience (if applicable):

  • Experience working at a commercial pharmaceutical company preferred.
