Job overview
Arm is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the R&D Finance team supporting silicon programs across Cloud AI, Edge AI, and Physical AI. This role focuses on managing financial execution and cost transparency for complex semiconductor development, supporting multi-billion-dollar R&D investments.
You will partner with engineering, program management, operations, procurement, accounting, and finance teams to deliver insights into headcount, silicon costs, and program spend, enabling disciplined execution across the lifecycle, from build through tapeout and validation. This is a hands-on role involving model building, data analysis, and insight generation, combining strong analytical skills with business context to translate data into actionable outcomes.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will own monthly close activities and support budgeting for the Solutions Engineering group, including forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis. You will manage program-level financials, providing visibility into headcount and non-headcount spend (e.g., masks, boards), along with key cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
You will build and maintain financial models to support decision-making, assessing impacts from changes in scope, schedule, and resourcing. The role requires strong cross-functional partnership with Engineering, Program Management, Procurement, and Accounting to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and translate incomplete data into actionable insights. You will also support contract and spend tracking by understanding financial implications of contract terms and monitoring spend. Additionally, you will drive automation and process improvements to enhance reporting, improve data quality, and reduce manual effort.
Overall, you will establish reliable tracking and forecasting for programs, improve awareness of cost drivers and risks, and act as a trusted finance partner to engineering and program teams.
Necessary Skills and Experience :
  • 5-8 years of proven experience in FP&A, R&D finance, or program finance
  • Experience in semiconductor, or other high-tech strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required, including working with large datasets and integrating data across systems
  • Experience with automation or data tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to improve efficiency
  • Strong systems orientation and ability to work across multiple data sources
  • Ability to proactively engage cross-functional collaborators and synthesize incomplete data into insights!
  • High attention to detail coupled with leading multiple program workstreams
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills and Experience :
  • Familiarity with IP and silicon development lifecycle
  • Experience with systems such as SAP, Anaplan, or similar planning tools
