Healthcare documentation is broken. Nestmed is fixing it with an AI platform that gives clinicians their time back.

In just one year, we’ve scaled to support tens of thousands of clinicians across more than a million patient visits. We're now the trusted partner for over 60 home health agencies, including 7 of the top 10 enterprises in the US.

Our founding team—hailing from Stanford, YC, Google, and Meta—is backed by the founders of PayPal and Plaid to build the essential infrastructure for the future of the $500B home healthcare industry.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own and evolve our mobile experience - the primary interface for clinicians documenting care in patients' homes. Our Android app handles real-time voice capture, background processing, and seamless sync in challenging network conditions. You'll work directly with our CEO and CTO to solve hard technical problems and shape the mobile platform as we scale.

What You'll Own

As a senior Android engineer, you'll take ownership of critical mobile infrastructure:

  • Real-time voice capture and background audio processing during patient visits

  • Foreground services that maintain reliability across hours-long recording sessions

  • Offline-first architecture with intelligent sync for clinicians in low-connectivity environments

  • Modern UI built with Jetpack Compose for documentation review and editing

  • System-level integrations for enterprise MDM deployments

  • Performance optimization across diverse Android devices and OS versions

Your Impact (First Year)

  • Ship features that directly improve the daily workflow of thousands of clinicians

  • Architect reliable background services that handle millions of minutes of audio capture monthly

  • Reduce app-related support issues through improved stability and error handling

  • Establish Android engineering best practices as we grow the mobile team

  • Contribute to technical decisions that shape our mobile platform roadmap

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 4+ years of professional Android development experience

  • Strong Kotlin expertise, including coroutines and flows

  • Proven experience with foreground services—lifecycle management, notification requirements, and long-running reliability

  • Proficiency with Jetpack Compose, including custom layouts and state management

  • Experience with WorkManager for scheduled and persistent tasks

  • Solid understanding of Android architecture components and dependency injection

  • Care deeply about UX, reliability, and real-world usage in the field

  • Comfortable working quickly and iterating based on clinician feedback

What makes you extraordinary:

  • Experience with audio processing or real-time media on Android

  • Healthcare or regulated industry background

  • Offline-first architecture and sync conflict resolution

  • Previous startup experience (seed to Series C)

  • Strong testing strategies and CI/CD for mobile

  • MDM/enterprise mobility experience

If you’re passionate about building high-impact products that solve real-world problems, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today!
