Role

Identity is the new security perimeter. Come help manage digital risk by applying security through identity integration and controls.

We are looking for a Senior Architect to join our Identity and Access Management team. This is a hybrid role on-site three days a week in San Jose, reporting to the Director,Software Development Engineering ZIdentity team. You will be responsible for design and development of enterprise-grade Identity Management Products for Zscaler. You will leverage your deep expertise in IAM and public cloud environments to drive hands-on development and provide technical leadership.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

  • Practice technical leadership in design, development, and optimization of Identity platform. Need to focus on strategy for the product growth and expansion in a cost effective way.
  • Spearhead the technical roadmap for the Kubernetes platform, architecting centralized identity and access management (IAM) solutions to support enterprise-scale business goals.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to enhance support for Common Identity platform
  • Drive professional development and growth initiatives for team members

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain 
  • Minimum 12+ years of hands-on experience in application architecture and development using Java. Experience developing enterprise-grade Security or Networking products. Expert-level technical knowledge: Enterprise Java, OOP, OOA, systems architecture, RESTful APIs, and related frameworks ( e.g.  Hibernate, Spring).  CI/CD (tools and processes) and expert in Kubernetes and container infrastructure
  • Expert-level knowledge of container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestrating massive-scale K8s clusters in AWS & GCP. Deep experience architecting highly automated, secure CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitOps, ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitLab CI) to enable zero-downtime deployments (Blue/Green, Canary) across global environments. Expertise designing and optimizing Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB), L4/L7 cloud load balancers, and Kubernetes Ingress Controllers (Envoy, NGINX, Traefik) for extreme throughput and low latency, multi-cloud & DR
  • Basic understanding of PKI & Identity and Access Management protocols, specifically SAML, OAuth & OpenID connect is required

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$245,000$350,000 USD
