Logistics Support Specialist:

The Logistics department is responsible for effectively and efficiently providing materials management and logistics support to all LA28 functions. The Logistics Support Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Heads of Logistics Streams (Customs, Material Planning, and Venue Logistics) in the administrative and creative support of the logistics department, including creating templates, drafting correspondence, preparing reportssocial media posts,  and maintaining both internal (LA28) and external (IOC/OBS) timelines.   

 

This position will be responsible for assisting in defining logistics strategy and process mapping, focusing on creating efficiencies and synergies within the team structure.   

Reporting directly to the Heads of Logistics Streams, this position will support in strategic planning of the Games and play a critical role in supporting the on-time and efficient delivery of the Logistics program, balancing innovation, sustainability, and efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal Functional Areas (FAs) to support the development of Logistics 
  • Ensures Logistics remain in compliance with LA28-wide milestones and deliverables 
  • Assemble and prepare department materials for internal / external stakeholders
  • Oversee the publishing of departmental guides and documents 
  • Create electronic templates to be communicated and distributed throughout the FA 
  • Works with spreadsheets, word files, database software to complete tasks and milestones 
  • Interacts with IOC / OBS personnel synchronizing schedules 
  • Create and maintain a professional social media post highlighting the accomplishments of the Logistics department 
  • Maintains multiple directreport calendars 
  • Assist with the tracking of department vehicles 
  • Serves as the lead support specialist and trains other support personnel 
  • Compiles and analyzes statistical reports, maintains databases and enters new data 

Background & Requirements:
  • 4+ years experience in a previous office support role 
  • Tech savvy individual experienced in Microsoft software applications – Word, Excel, PowerPointSharePoint applications, and Outlook  
  • Experience in capturing and sharing on professional social media sites 
  • Competence to present and clearly communicate to audiences in a multitude of public / private settings, as required 
  • Willing to work on complex, tight, immovable timelines while maintaining a positive attitude, exhibiting patience, persistence and attention to detail 
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment

Expectations:
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills  
  • Knowledge of support Logistical operations 
  • Experience in electronic file management including organizing, managing, updating and filing documents 
  • Team player with collaborative, flexible approach with an ability to roll with the transitional nature of the organization as it grows and establishes itself over the next 3 - 4 years 
  • Must be proficient with computers as well as Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) 
  • Confident self-starter – Ability to make quick decisions, follow instructions, and gathering input from colleagues
Education:
  • An undergraduate degree or relevant work experience, a strong plus. 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Expectation to work in LA28 offices in Los Angeles 
  • Primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, and attending virtual or in-person meetings 
  • Occasional travel to various venues, warehouses, or vendor meetings may be required 

The annual base salary for this position is $85,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
