Job Description

We are seeking a versatile Brand and Visual Designer to define and evolve our visual identity. In this role, you will be the primary architect of our company’s look and feel, ensuring a cohesive and premium aesthetic across our corporate brand and our suite of medical products. You will bridge the gap between high-level brand strategy and tactile visual assets, creating everything from design systems to the motion graphics that bring our software and hardware to life. As an early designer at Echo, you will work closely with engineering and other functions shaping the role that design plays throughout the company.

Role Responsibilities
  • Brand Stewardship: Develop, maintain, and scale comprehensive brand guidelines that govern the look and feel for both the parent company and individual product lines.

  • Visual Asset Creation: Design high-fidelity graphics, icons, and illustrative elements that will be integrated into our medical device software and marketing materials.

  • Motion & Animation: Create purposeful animations and transitions to improve user comprehension within the product and elevate storytelling in brand communications.

  • Data Representation: Translate abstract neural data and AI states into intuitive, high-fidelity visual representations that provide clarity to both clinicians and patients.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Interaction Designers to apply visual systems to UI components and work with clinical/product teams to ensure the brand resonates with clinicians and patients.

  • Production Excellence: Manage the end-to-end creative process from conceptual moodboarding to the delivery of production-ready assets for web, mobile, and hardware interfaces.

Role QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Proven Brand Expertise: A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to build and implement complex visual identity systems across digital and physical touchpoints.

  • Illustration & Graphical Skills: Ability to create custom medical or technical illustrations and graphics that simplify complex data for patients.

  • Motion Design Proficiency: Experience in 2D animation (e.g., After Effects, Lottie, or Figma motion) to create functional and decorative animations.

  • Systematic Thinking: Experience building style guides and component libraries that remain scalable, accessible, and easy for cross-functional teams to implement.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare/Med-Tech Experience: Experience translating complex clinical concepts into accessible and professional visuals.

  • Device Systems & Ecosystems: Experience designing for integrated systems where software interacts with physical hardware.

  • Environmental/Packaging Design: Experience applying brand identity to physical spaces or medical device packaging.

  • People Management: Experience coaching, mentoring, or managing a small team of designers.

What We Offer
  • An opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge projects to transform patients’ lives in a highly collaborative work environment.

  • Competitive compensation, including stock options.

  • Comprehensive benefits package.

  • 401(k) program with matching contributions.
