About the role

Plaud is looking for someone to own our verbal identity in the AMER market and build the copy system that keeps our voice consistent everywhere customers meet us. You'll define how Plaud sounds, then build the tools and processes that let that voice hold across product, web, campaign, and lifecycle channels, without every asset needing your personal review.

This is a hands-on role. You'll set the standards and you'll also do the writing, leading copy strategy and execution for our biggest brand moments, from product launches to campaign narratives to channel-specific storytelling, taking each piece from H1 to caption.

Mission

Own Plaud's verbal identity and build the copy system that holds our voice across the AMER market.

What you will do

  • Define Plaud's voice pillars, tone registers, and surface-specific copy standards, and build the style guide, examples library, and governance process that put them into practice

  • Build copy frameworks with product marketing and narrative architecture with brand strategy, so messaging stays coherent across channels

  • Partner with designers, channel managers, marketing managers, and leadership to build world-class copy and storytelling practices

  • Bridge the gap between product features, specs and value props to winning copy hooks and angles

  • Own the storytelling and copy approach for key brand channels in the AMER region

  • Bring AI tooling into the copy production process to increase throughput and speed up iteration

    Qualifications

  • 8+ years in brand copywriting or content strategy, with a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of a verbal identity system (voice pillars, tone registers, surface-specific guidance) at a multi-market consumer brand, not just execution within an existing system

  • Experience writing or directing copy for at least one major consumer product launch, with evidence of cross-functional coordination across product marketing, design, and legal, and measurable results

  • A consumer tech and/or hardware background; fluency in the AI category is a plus

  • Editorial judgment that scales through systems and training rather than personal review: you can write a brief, a rubric, or a worked example that lets others execute to standard, and you build systems that let regional teams self-serve without drift

  • Confidence presenting copy direction to senior brand, product, and growth stakeholders, and defending your decisions with evidence rather than preference

  • Active use of AI writing tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, or equivalent) in your copy production and iteration workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building copy systems that let regional or cross-functional teams self-serve, such as style guides, decision trees, or annotated examples libraries, reducing dependency on senior review for standard executions

  • A point of view on AI-assisted writing: where LLMs accelerate production and where editorial judgment is irreplaceable

What we offer

  • Competitive Compensation: $140K-$200K base salary+performance bonus+Equity.
