Through our offshore collaboration model, you'll be embedded within the team of one of our esteemed international clients, contributing directly to high-impact, enterprise-level initiatives. 

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our product team and take an active role in shaping business requirements and solutions.

This role goes beyond gathering and documenting requirements. You will be involved early in the process, helping to understand the problem, break down business needs, explore possible solutions, and understand how those solutions fit within the Ultimo product and system.

You will work closely with Product management, UX/UI, Engineering and QA. We are looking for someone who is comfortable bringing ideas to the table, asking the right questions, challenging requirements when needed, and helping the team find practical solutions.

The role suits someone with a strong Business Analysis background who also has an interest in product, user experience, technology and AI.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

• Analyze business needs and turn unclear or incomplete requirements into clear, structured problems that can be explored further.
• Break down complex requirements into manageable areas, including the related tasks, responsibilities, dependencies, risks and potential product impacts.
• Understand how requirements fit within the existing Ultimo product and identify areas that may be affected by a change.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements that can be understood by Product, Design, Engineering and QA, including the context needed to understand why the change is needed.
• Collect relevant data, apply analysis and use insights to support decisions, recommendations and prioritization.

Solution and Product Thinking

• Look beyond the immediate requirement and consider the wider product, user and operational impact.
• Explore different approaches, challenge assumptions where needed, and recommend practical solutions to Product and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing product functionality, user experience and ways of working.
• Help connect business goals with practical product solutions, development work and clear ownership of responsibilities.
• Contribute to discussions around scope, priorities and solution options.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, Developers and QA throughout the product development process.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops to clarify tasks, responsibilities, ownership and decisions across stakeholders.
• Communicate requirements, proposed solutions and expected outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Have customer contact where relevant, including meetings and email communication to clarify needs, gather context and validate understanding.
• Prepare and give internal presentations to share findings, explain proposed solutions and support alignment across teams.
• Write clear implementation documentation that supports development, QA, release preparation and handover where needed.
• Take ownership of assigned areas and move topics forward without needing every step to be defined upfront.

AI and Ways of Working

• Use AI as an integral part of day-to-day Business Analysis and product work.
• Use AI to support and accelerate activities such as requirement breakdown, research, impact analysis, solution exploration, ideation, documentation and drafting.
• Explore AI tools and new ways of working that can improve the quality, speed and consistency of analysis.
• Identify opportunities where AI can improve existing product or team processes.
• Stay curious about new AI capabilities and actively look for ways to incorporate them into the way you work.

Essential

• 3+ years of experience in Business Analysis or a similar role within a software product environment.
• Strong ability to analyze and break down complex or incomplete business requirements.
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
• Ability to work with requirements at an early stage, before they are fully defined or added to the backlog.
• Good understanding of how business requirements translate into product functionality and system changes.
• Ability to suggest solutions and alternatives rather than only documenting requirements.
• Product-oriented mindset with the ability to consider business value, user needs and feasibility when looking at solutions.
• Practical experience using AI tools as part of your day-to-day work.
• Willingness to explore and adopt new AI tools and approaches to improve the way you work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with different teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of problems from analysis through to delivery.

Desirable

• A good understanding of UI/UX principles and a keen eye for usability, consistency and user experience.
• Experience creating simple wireframes, user flows or prototypes.
• Experience working closely with Product Owners or Product Managers.
• Experience with tools such as Figma or similar prototyping tools.
• Experience working with enterprise software or complex business applications.
• Experience in EAM, CMMS, asset management or a similar domain.
• Basic understanding of APIs, integrations, data or technical architecture.
• Experience facilitating discovery, scoping or solution workshops.
