We are looking for a Senior Business Operations Analyst, Infrastructure Lifecycle who is passionate about shaping where and how DigitalOcean's infrastructure footprint grows, evolves, and eventually retires.

As a Senior Business Operations Analyst, Infrastructure Lifecycle at DigitalOcean, you will join a newly formed Business Operations & Strategy function within Physical Infrastructure, reporting to the VP, Capacity & Business Operations. You'll own the long-term strategy for DigitalOcean's global physical infrastructure portfolio - from market selection and expansion, through technology refresh and portfolio optimization, to decommissioning - ensuring our footprint stays aligned with customer demand, capital priorities, and long-term business strategy.

What You'll Do
  • Own the long-term strategy for DigitalOcean's global data center portfolio across the full asset lifecycle - expansion, refresh, optimization, and decommissioning
  • Build and execute data center decommissioning strategy, including timelines, cost management, and risk mitigation
  • Manage the decommissioning of legacy hardware within data centers, coordinating across Operations, Security, and Finance
  • Partner with Finance and Business Planning to align portfolio decisions with capital priorities and investment return
  • Evaluate technology refresh cycles and recommend optimal timing for infrastructure upgrades
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to inform where and when DigitalOcean should expand or consolidate its footprint
  • Build frameworks and governance for lifecycle decision-making, since none currently exist for this function
  • Present portfolio strategy recommendations to the VP and cross-functional executive stakeholders
What You'll Add to DigitalOcean
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure strategy, data center operations, or asset lifecycle management
  • Direct experience with data center expansion, market selection, or decommissioning processes
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives end-to-end
  • Familiarity with data center technical infrastructure (power, cooling, hardware refresh cycles) preferred
  • Analytical mindset, with experience building business cases for capital investment or divestment decisions
  • Comfort operating in a newly formed function without an established playbook
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with experience partnering with Finance, Operations, and Legal
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; MBA a plus
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure, colocation, or hyperscale data center environments strongly preferred
Compensation Range:
  • $108,000 - $134,000
