C3 AI is seeking a highly qualified Senior Commercial Counsel, to join our Legal team. This role will perform a broad range of legal work, with a focus on supporting the sales and alliances organizations on commercial engagements. You will help align deal structure, draft and review commercial and alliance agreements, and advise members of management on various issues within assigned areas. This position is required to be onsite 5 days a week at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA.

The ideal candidate must have the proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be a motivated self-starter who can multi-task.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, analyze, negotiate, and complete complex commercial transactions with the company’s enterprise customers, strategic partners, vendors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the sales, services, and product teams to achieve key business objectives.
  • Ensure commercial and partner agreements conform to applicable AI, data privacy, trade, consumer protection, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Assist with improving and implementing the use of templates, “playbooks,” and policies.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.

Qualifications:

  • JD from a top law school.
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. State bar.
  • 8+ years of related experience, including applicable experience at a premier law firm and 5+ years as commercial counsel at an enterprise SaaS company.
  • Deep substantive knowledge of enterprise software, SaaS, PaaS, other software licensing and distribution, strategic alliances, channel sales and distribution models, intellectual property, and open source.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

California Base Pay Range
$252,000$310,000 USD
