We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager, Private Equity and Venture Capital

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager to own, scale, and lead our Financial Sponsor (PE/VC) Partnerships channel.
In this senior role, you will not only manage a portfolio of high-value PE/VC sponsors but will also be responsible for defining the regional sponsor strategy, building a repeatable playbook, and mentoring/guiding mid-level Commercial Partnership Managers on the team.

You will act as the principal liaison between top-tier global Private Equity firms, their portfolio companies (Portcos), and Adyen's executive leadership and commercial teams. Your goal is to institutionalize payment optimization and embedded finance as a core value-creation lever for our sponsor partners, driving high-velocity referrals and long-term enterprise growth.

What you’ll do
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the commercial go-to-market strategy for a portfolio of PE/VC firms in North America. Design repeatable partnership motions for sponsor engagement, portfolio mapping, and co-selling.
  • Mega-Fund Management: Directly cultivate and scale relationships with Tier-1 mega-funds, large-cap PE firms, and influential Operating Partners (Tech/Digital/Value Creation).
Consultative Value Creation: Educate PE Deal and Operating teams on how Adyen's single global platform directly improves Portco EBITDA, optimizes working capital, and accelerates international expansion.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Partner closely with Sales Leadership, Product, Marketing, and Account Management to ensure seamless execution, rapid onboarding of referred Portcos, and robust feedback loops.
  • Metrics & Performance Tracking: Own the commercial target for defined PE/VC portfolio. Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including partner-originated pipeline, closed-won revenue, and channel ROI to senior executive stakeholders.
  • Team Mentorship & Coordination: Serve as a player-coach to uplevel and mentor junior/mid-level Commercial Partnership Managers on the team, helping them navigate complex sponsor dynamics and close deals.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of commercial experience in fintech, enterprise software sales, corporate development, or consulting,
  • 4+ years of direct experience working within or selling to the Private Equity / Venture Capital sponsor ecosystem.
  • Payments Industry Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the payments value chain (merchant acquiring, gateway, card issuing, and embedded financial services).
  • Established Network: A strong, existing Rolodex of relationships with Private Equity Operating Partners, portfolio managers, or mid-to-large-cap corporate decision-makers.
  • Expert Communicator: Highly polished presenter capable of building trust and driving strategic alignment with C-suite executives, PE Managing Directors, and portfolio board members.
  • Analytical Thinker: Comfort using financial models, data-driven frameworks, and EBITDA impact analyses to build compelling business cases for sponsors.
