Role Summary:

As Senior Corporate Counsel, Global Litigation & Regulatory Disputes at Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC ("SIE"), you will help manage a varied portfolio of global litigation matters, SIE's responses to regulatory requests for information (RFIs), inquiries, and investigations in the Americas with support for matters globally; and advise business stakeholders on evolving regulatory and litigation risks. This role requires sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to coordinate fast-moving, cross-functional matters across jurisdictions while determining when matters should be handled by internal teams and when outside counsel support is appropriate.

What You'll Be Doing:

Global Regulatory Response & Investigations

  • Lead and coordinate responses to government and regulatory RFIs, inquiries, investigations, and related information requests across the Americas with support from jurisdictions worldwide as needed.
  • Quickly assess the scope, legal risk, business impact, response requirements, and deadlines associated with each matter, and develop a clear response strategy and workplan.
  • Manage tight deadlines and short turnaround times while ensuring responses are accurate, complete, consistent, and appropriately reviewed and approved.
  • Engage and coordinate internal stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Information Security, Product, Engineering, Finance, Public Policy, Communications, and other relevant functions.
  • Identify, preserve, collect, review, and synthesize relevant information and documents in partnership with other team members, internal subject-matter experts, and operational teams.
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding when a matter can be managed effectively by an internal team and when specialist outside counsel should be engaged.
  • Oversee outside counsel as needed; establish strategy, manage workstreams and budgets, and ensure advice is practical and aligned with business objectives.

Global Litigation & Risk Advisory

  • Manage litigation and other adversarial proceedings in the Americas and on a global basis as needed, in coordination with internal stakeholders and outside counsel as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategy, manage discovery and other case workstreams, evaluate resolution options, and oversee matters through trial, arbitration, appeal, or settlement as applicable.
  • Provide clear, practical, and timely advice to business stakeholders and leadership regarding evolving regulatory and litigation risks, including potential operational and strategic impacts.
  • Monitor regulatory enforcement and litigation trends across key markets and translate developments into actionable risk-mitigation recommendations.
  • Collaborate with legal and business colleagues to improve processes, playbooks, governance, and readiness for regulatory inquiries, investigations, and litigation.

What We're Looking For:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • An active US state bar membership in good standing.
  • At least 12 years of counsel experience, including regulatory inquiries, investigations, complex litigation, and government enforcement matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead responses to RFIs, inquiries, and investigations from government authorities and regulators, including matters involving compressed timelines and multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation or investigations and coordinating internal teams and outside counsel across jurisdictions.
  • Sound judgment regarding legal risk, escalation, privilege, and the appropriate use of outside counsel and other external advisers.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and internationally with multiple partners and to implement global strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience as a solutions-oriented self-starter who provides practical advice in a manner that is understandable by non-lawyers.
  • Exceptional project-management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing matters, manage tight deadlines, and drive workstreams to completion.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and work on any matter, no matter how big or small.
  • Ability to work independently while building alignment among diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Additional Experience That Would Be Valuable

  • Prior experience as in-house counsel in a global technology, entertainment, gaming, or other highly regulated business.
  • Experience advising on information security, privacy, consumer protection, competition, product, or platform-related regulatory matters.
