Experience supporting project accounting environments and a general understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition concepts is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance manufacturing cost accounting and inventory accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain and validate average costing methodologies within the ERP system.
  • Analyze BOMs, routings, labor, overhead allocations, and work order activity to support accurate product costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing reporting.
  • Perform inventory valuation reconciliations between NetSuite and the general ledger.
  • Support monthly close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, COGS analysis, inventory reporting, and margin/profitability reporting.
  • Support implementation, optimization, and ongoing administration of NetSuite manufacturing, inventory, costing, and related accounting modules, including item setup, work orders, and multi-location costing structures.
  • Provide training and support to team members on cost accounting systems, inventory controls, and accounting best practices.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Project Accounting, and Finance teams to understand inventory flows, product cost drivers, project cost tracking, and operational impacts on financial performance.
  • Own inventory accounting processes including valuation, reconciliations, reserves, transaction monitoring, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy controls while partnering with Operations and Supply Chain to investigate discrepancies and improve controls.
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and construction-in-progress tracking.
  • Partner with Operations to support capital expenditure tracking and asset lifecycle management.
  • Support operational planning and supply chain initiatives through financial analysis of inventory levels, manufacturing efficiency, freight, and material utilization.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes related to manufacturing, inventory, and operational spending.
  • Assist with audit support, including inventory testing, documentation, and external auditor requests.
  • Ensure costing practices comply with GAAP requirements and internal control standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve ERP processes, inventory controls, and manufacturing accounting workflows to support operational scalability.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing finance.

RequirementsQualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing accounting roles, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and inventory accounting principles, including inventory valuation, controls, variance analysis, fixed assets, ERP systems, and audit support.
  • Experience implementing, optimizing, or supporting ERP systems, with strong preference for NetSuite manufacturing, inventory, and costing modules.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional operational teams including Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations, or Project Accounting strongly preferred.
  • Experience working alongside project accounting teams and familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition concepts preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with demonstrated accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite.
