Senior Data & Business Analytics Manager (Remote)

  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000 per year, based on relevant years of experience

  • Status: Full time, 40 hours per week

Role Overview:


Responsible for leading the organization's data and analytics function by developing, maintaining, and governing enterprise data platforms, reporting solutions, and business intelligence capabilities that support strategic, operational, financial, and clinical decision-making. This role oversees data architecture, data engineering, analytics, reporting, data governance, and privacy practices to ensure the availability, integrity, security, and effective use of organizational data assets. The position partners closely with business, clinical, and executive leaders to translate data into actionable insights, establish trusted performance metrics, and drive a culture of data-informed decision-making. Additionally, this role provides leadership and development for data and analytics teams, manages vendor relationships and technology investments, and ensures compliance with healthcare data standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.


Essential Duties: 

  • Lead Data Platform Strategy and Operations: Oversee the organization's data warehouse/lakehouse environment, ensuring scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data architecture and operations.
  • Manage Enterprise Data Integration: Direct the development and maintenance of data pipelines and integrations across clinical, operational, financial, human resources, and external data sources.
  • Establish Data Modeling and Analytics Standards: Develop and maintain enterprise data models, semantic layers, and standardized metric definitions to ensure consistency and reusability across reporting and analytics.
  • Oversee Data Engineering Practices: Establish standards for development, testing, deployment, version control, code review, and platform governance to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Monitor Data Platform Performance and Reliability: Ensure data pipeline health, system performance, data freshness, and issue resolution through proactive monitoring and continuous improvement practices.
  • Lead Business Intelligence and Reporting Functions: Oversee the development and delivery of executive dashboards, operational reporting, and enterprise analytics solutions that support organizational decision-making.
  • Manage Enterprise Metrics and Reporting Governance: Maintain a catalog of key performance indicators, business definitions, data lineage, and reporting ownership to support consistent and trusted reporting.
  • Partner with Business and Clinical Leaders: Collaborate with operational, clinical, financial, quality, revenue cycle, and human resources leaders to translate business needs into actionable data, analytics, and reporting solutions.
  • Support Regulatory, Quality, and External Reporting Requirements: Ensure the availability, accuracy, and timely delivery of reporting required for regulatory programs, payer reporting, quality initiatives, and governing board oversight.
  • Establish and Maintain Data Governance and Privacy Controls: Implement data governance practices that support data quality, security, privacy, role-based access, data lineage, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Data Quality and Stewardship: Oversee data quality monitoring, issue resolution processes, and system-of-record management to improve the integrity and usability of enterprise data assets.
  • Lead and Develop Data and Analytics Teams: Recruit, develop, coach, and retain data engineering and business intelligence professionals while fostering accountability, collaboration, cross-training, and continuous learning.
  • Manage Analytics Portfolio, Prioritization, and Delivery: Establish intake, prioritization, and resource management processes that align data and analytics initiatives with organizational priorities and business value.
  • Oversee Vendor, Financial, and Strategic Data Initiatives: Manage vendor relationships, technology investments, licensing, budgets, and participation in system selection and implementation efforts to ensure long-term data and analytics success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, health informatics, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence, including 10+ years directly managing technical staff 
  • Advanced SQL and demonstrated ownership of a production data warehouse or Lakehouse 
  • Hands-on experience with a modern transformation or orchestration stack, for example dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or comparable tools 
  • Production experience with an enterprise BI platform such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Qlik, including governance and workspace administration
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements as they apply to analytic data 
  • Track record of delivering reporting that changed an operational or financial outcome, not only dashboards that were shipped


Licenses and Certifications: 

  • Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare experience with EHR reporting data, for example Epic Clarity and Caboodle, Oracle Health, Meditech, or athenahealth 
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle metrics such as denials, days in AR, charge lag, and net collection rate
  • Experience with quality and value-based care reporting, including HEDIS, MIPS, or CMS star ratings
  • Cloud platform experience in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, with the associated data services
  • Python or comprable scripting for pipeline and automation work
  • Experience with master data management, provider and location hierarchies, or patient matching
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred.
