In the role of Senior Data Product Manager, Data Platform and Identity, you will own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for Crunchyroll's next-generation content partner data portal. You will translate content partner and internal stakeholder needs into secure, scalable data products that make our content, performance, and marketing insights directly accessible to partners.
You'll work across CDI, Product, Content, Legal/Privacy, Security, and Platform/Data Engineering to ensure that the portal delivers the right data, to the right content partner, with the right entitlements and experience. Your work will be measured by partner adoption, satisfaction, data quality, and roadmap delivery.
- Own the data portal product vision and roadmap
- Define and maintain a clear, multi-phase product strategy for the portal that aligns content partner needs, internal workflows, and Crunchyroll business goals.
- Convert partner questions (“What is my slate doing?”, “How are fans responding?”, “What's next?”) into concrete data products, views, and workflows.
- Maintain a prioritized backlog balancing new features, UX improvements, technical debt, and data quality/availability work.
- Turn partner and stakeholder requirements into shippable work
- Run structured discovery with content partners, Content, Brand/Marketing, Research & Insights, and Analytics teams to understand use cases, pain points, and success criteria.
- Translate requirements into clear product specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria for data engineering, platform, and frontend teams.
- Define MVPs, iterate based on feedback, and ensure learnings are captured into the roadmap.
- Design and steward partner-facing data experiences
- Partner with Data/Platform Engineering and Analytics to shape the underlying data models, aggregations, and SLAs that power the data portal (e.g., title performance, campaign overlays, sentiment signals).
- Collaborate with UX and frontend engineering to design intuitive, partner-friendly navigation, visualizations, and workflows for exploring data.
- Ensure data products are understandable and self-serve, with clear definitions, documentation, and guardrails.
- Lead identity, access, and entitlement strategy for partner data portal
- Work closely with Identity Management / Okta, Security, and Legal/Privacy to define roles, tiers, and entitlements for content partners, including SSO/Okta integration, RBAC, and data-scoping rules.
- Translate partner contracts and internal policies into practical access models (what each partner can see, at what grain, and under which conditions).
- Partner on audits, tooling, and runbooks that keep access compliant, observable, and scalable as the partner base grows.
- Drive delivery across internal and external teams
- Coordinate execution across Data/Platform Engineering, Analytics, Product, Legal/Privacy, Security, and any external vendors or agencies supporting the build.
- Manage the core product ceremonies (intake, grooming, sprint planning, demos, retros) and keep scope, timelines, and dependencies aligned.
- Ensure a clean handoff from agency-led work to internal ownership, with clear documentation, runbooks, and operational readiness for GA.
- Measure impact and close the loop with content partners
- Define and track key product metrics (e.g., content partner adoption and retention, feature usage, latency, data freshness, satisfaction/NPS, support volumes).
- Run a continuous Voice of Customer loop: gather feedback from content partners and internal partner-facing teams, synthesize themes, and feed them back into roadmap and design decisions.
- Support partner roadshows, training sessions, and partner meetings with clear narratives and demos of partner data portal capabilities.
In the role of Senior Data Product Manager, Data Platform and Identity, you will report to the Vice President, Data Analytics. We are considering applicants for the location of Los Angeles.
About YouWe get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- You are a data product builder with a partner mindset
- You have 8+ years of experience in product management or related roles, with a focus on data products, analytics platforms, or B2B portals.
- You've shipped products that expose data and insights to external customers or partners (e.g., portals, dashboards, APIs, or clean rooms) and understand the bar for reliability, privacy, and UX in that context.
- You're fluent in data systems and how they power experiences
- You're comfortable working with data warehouses/lakehouses, semantic layers, and BI tools, and discussing schemas, freshness, and SLAs with engineers and analysts.
- You don't need to write production code, but you can read a schema, talk about joins and grain, and reason about what's feasible in a given timeframe.
- You understand identity, access, and entitlements
- You have hands-on experience working with identity/access management concepts (e.g., SSO, SAML/OIDC, RBAC, entitlements, group-based access) and partnering with security/identity teams.
- You've helped translate policies or contracts into practical access models for users or partners and are comfortable navigating tradeoffs between flexibility, simplicity, and risk.
- You turn ambiguity into clear roadmaps
- You're strong at requirements gathering, synthesis, and prioritization. You can take a noisy set of asks from content partners and internal partners and convert them into a sequenced roadmap.
- You write clear product specs and user stories, and can ruthlessly prioritize based on impact, risk, and effort, communicating tradeoffs to executives and stakeholders.
- You excel at cross-functional collaboration and communication
- You've partnered with engineering, analytics, design, legal/privacy, and security to ship complex products.
- You can context-switch between technical deep dives and executive updates, tailoring your framing, language, and level of detail.
You'll join the Center for Data & Insights (CDI), partnering closely with Content, Product, Brand/Content Partner teams, and Platform/Data Engineering to build and scale the Content Partner Portal 3.0, Crunchyroll's next-generation, self-serve content partner data portal.
The team's mission is to turn Crunchyroll's data into trusted, actionable insights for both internal teams and external partners. We build the data products, standards, and narratives that help content partners understand title performance, fan engagement, and the impact of their content across our global footprint. You'll be a key bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and content partners, ensuring partner data portal evolves into a durable, high-trust platform that supports content deals and deepens partner relationships.
