About this role
As a Senior Technical Recruiter at Faire, you will play a critical role in scaling our fast-growing Data, Machine Learning, and Engineering teams. We are looking for someone who operates as a true talent advisor, deeply embedded with senior leadership, shaping how we hire for our most complex and high-stakes technical roles.

You will be responsible for setting recruiting strategy across Data and Engineering, driving excellence in process and candidate experience, and serving as a force multiplier for the broader recruiting team. This is a senior individual contributor role with potential for direct reports for someone who is ready to own the most critical searches on the team while helping define what great technical recruiting looks like at Faire.

This is a high-impact role based in San Francisco with significant scope to influence recruiting strategy as the business evolves.

What You'll Do

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for the most complex and senior Data, ML, and Engineering roles, including Staff and Principal levels from role scoping through close.
  • Serve as a strategic talent partner to key stakeholders, shaping role requirements, calibrating on market dynamics, and driving rigorous, data-informed hiring processes.
  • Own and evolve sourcing strategy across Data and Engineering, building differentiated approaches through outbound campaigns, networks, events, and community partnerships to engage top-tier technical talent.
  • Champion candidate experience at the highest level, ensuring Faire's process is transparent, efficient, and compelling from first touchpoint to offer acceptance.
  • Lead complex offer negotiations end-to-end, providing expert guidance on competitive compensation, equity positioning, and closing strategies for senior technical hires.
  • Maintain high data integrity within Greenhouse and produce sophisticated pipeline reporting and hiring insights that directly influence leadership decision-making.
  • Act as a senior resource across the recruiting team, elevating best practices, sponsoring process improvements, and helping shape how Faire approaches technical recruiting at scale.
  • Champion Faire's values and DEI commitment, ensuring inclusive pipelines and equitable hiring practices across all searches.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 3 years focused on senior technical hiring across data and/or engineering disciplines (machine learning, data science, software engineering, or related fields).
  • Demonstrated ability to close Staff+ and leadership-level technical candidates in highly competitive markets.
  • Experience operating as a strategic partner to senior engineering or data leadership, with the credibility and business acumen to influence at the executive level.
  • Experience recruiting in fast-paced, high-growth environments (startup or scaling tech strongly preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a complex portfolio of searches, stakeholders, and pipelines simultaneously.
  • Data-driven mindset with a track record of using pipeline and hiring insights to drive strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, able to navigate ambiguity, build trust quickly, and drive alignment across competing priorities.
  • Passionate about candidate experience, employer branding, and building inclusive, high-performing teams.

Salary Range

San Francisco, CA: the pay range for this role is $148,000 to $203,500 per year. 

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Faire uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to screen and select applicants for this position. This job posting is for an existing vacancy.

Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
