POSITION SUMMARY:
Meals on Wheels San Francisco (MOWSF) is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and collaborative Senior Development Associate to support our fundraising efforts and help strengthen the operations of our Development team.
As an integral member of the Development team, the Senior Development Associate plays a key role in managing fundraising projects, supporting donor stewardship and campaigns, overseeing fundraising systems, and coordinating grants administration. Working closely with Development leadership and colleagues across the organization, this position helps create an exceptional donor experience while ensuring the systems and processes behind our fundraising efforts run smoothly and effectively.

Essential Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising Operations
- Manage development projects and fundraising initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and follow-up are completed.
- Support donor cultivation, stewardship, fundraising campaigns, special events, and donor communications.
- Prepare donor correspondence, briefings, presentations, and other fundraising materials.
- Coordinate development priorities and deadlines, proactively identifying opportunities to improve workflows and team effectiveness.
- Support daily development operations and provide hands-on assistance wherever needed to ensure the team's success.
Donor Stewardship & Campaigns
- Help deliver a thoughtful, timely, and personalized donor stewardship experience.
- Coordinate the execution of annual giving initiatives, including direct mail, digital campaigns, Giving Tuesday, and year-end appeals, working closely with Development leadership to ensure timely delivery, accurate donor data, and effective campaign implementation.
- Manage campaign timelines, track deliverables, and coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure campaigns run smoothly.
- Prepare and coordinate donor communications, mailings, and campaign materials in collaboration with Development and Communications.
- Support fundraising events, including registration, gift tracking, reconciliation, and post-event reporting.
- Track campaign performance, maintain accurate donor records, and prepare reports to support fundraising analysis and future campaign planning.
- Communicate confidently and professionally with donors by phone and email, responding to donation inquiries, explaining giving options and processes, resolving gift-related questions, and ensuring a positive donor experience.
Fundraising Systems & Data Management
- Serve as the department's Salesforce NPSP super user and primary resource for other fundraising platforms.
- Maintain donor data integrity and develop efficient CRM processes, procedures, and reporting practices.
- Create and manage fundraising reports, dashboards, mailing lists, and donor analytics.
- Oversee gift processing and administration in collaboration with Development and Finance, including complex gifts, acknowledgments, and reconciliations.
- Troubleshoot system and data issues, identify process improvements, and provide guidance and training to colleagues.
- Ensure donor confidentiality and compliance with gift acknowledgment and documentation requirements.
Grants Administration
- Manage grant calendars, deadlines, and reporting schedules.
- Maintain accurate grant records, including awards, reporting obligations, and stewardship activities.
- Collaborate with Development leadership, Programs, Finance, and external grant partners to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
Collaboration & Team Support
- Work closely with Finance, Communications, Programs, and Executive Leadership to support fundraising initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on fundraising systems, reporting, and development procedures.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with donors, volunteers, board members, and community partners.
- Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment and support department-wide priorities as needed.
SALARY/ HOURS/ BENEFITS: $85,000 to $90,000 annual salary. The position is exempt and scheduled to work a 40-hour workweek. MOWSF provides company paid health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance (100% paid for employee only coverage). Our 403b plan includes a 3% discretionary contribution for all eligible employees. Vacation leave accruals start at 15 days (120 hours) and we observe a total 10 holidays per year.
