Responsible for enabling reliable, scalable, and secure delivery of software by designing and managing the infrastructure, pipelines, and automation that support development and deployment. Acts as the bridge between engineers, ensuring systems are resilient and changes move efficiently into production. Supports the Lead Engineer in maintaining and advocating for best-practices across DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and platform infrastructure.
About the Team
This role would be joining and supporting the XUP tech team and the platforms they own for Commercial Bank AI and Merchant Payments. This is a fast-paced cutting-edge team at the Bank who values creative problem solving, curiosity, and embracing the latest tech. We are an AI native team, and are constantly exploring how we advance our tools and skillsets.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment
- Assist with standardization of multiple codebases especially within the GCP environments
- Manage cloud infrastructure, environments, and configuration
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability; respond to incidents and drive root cause analysis
- Implement logging, observability, and alerting frameworks
- Partner with engineering and data science teams to optimize build, release, and deployment processes
- Enforce security, compliance, and access controls across environments
- Maintain version control, branching strategies, and release governance practices
- Advocate for net new AI powered capabilities to support DevOps and other processes within the organization
Required Skillset
- 5-8 years of experience and demonstrated ability to work independently and lead projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience. (required)
- Strong understanding of cloud architectures and distributed systems within an enterprise environment
- Strong capability with Terraform, GCP, GitLab
- Strong interpersonal / soft skills for managing complex relationships across an enterprise tech ecosystem
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues across the stack
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD across complex enterprise codebases
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Kibana, Dynatrace)
- Experience with enterprise financial services and/or in a highly regulated markets that require higher standards of security and architecture
- High proficiency in using AI coding assistants to execute engineering projects
- Understanding software development lifecycles and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)

Physical Demands
- General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.Please click here for a list of benefits for which this position is eligible.
