Who You Are

You are a seasoned operator who builds the structure, operating rhythms, and clarity a business unit needs to perform at a high level. As the Business Management & Execution Lead, you serve as a strategic and operational partner to senior leaders, translating enterprise priorities into practical execution across planning, governance, performance management, and cross-functional delivery. You work within a specific business unit while also advancing the standards of Inovalon’s central Business Management function. Your impact is measured by both the performance of the business unit you support and the consistency and scalability you help drive across the broader organization.

What You'll Do

  • Design and lead the business unit’s operating model, including governance forums, decision rights, accountability structures, and performance management processes.

  • Lead annual planning and goal-setting, partnering with Finance and enterprise teams to translate company priorities into business unit OKRs, resource plans, and execution roadmaps.

  • Define and improve decision-making processes, including ownership, escalation paths, and tradeoff management, and reinforce adherence to those processes across the business unit.

  • Own the business unit’s performance management architecture, including OKR design and cascade, KPI definition, dashboard development, scorecards, and quarterly retrospectives.

  • Monitor leading and lagging indicators, identify systemic performance gaps, and bring forward cross-functional solutions to business unit and Business Performance leadership.

  • Lead senior-level coordination with Finance, HR, Legal, Product, Engineering, GTM, and central Business Performance teams to align priorities and deliver shared outcomes.

  • Serve as the business unit’s primary representative in enterprise-wide programs and transformation initiatives, ensuring commitments are met and the business unit’s needs are clearly represented.

  • Prepare executive and board-level reporting, including monthly operating narratives, quarterly business review materials, investment case updates, and ad hoc leadership readouts.

  • Translate complex operational, financial, and strategic information into clear, decision-ready narratives and recommendations for senior executive audiences.

  • Improve operational maturity by building scalable playbooks, frameworks, and decision tools, while standardizing practices across business units where appropriate.

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business operations, strategy and operations, management consulting in a strategy or operations practice, or equivalent senior operational leadership roles.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Demonstrated experience operating at or supporting SVP, EVP, or C-suite leaders and influencing senior executives on strategy and execution.

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise performance management, including OKR design and cascade, KPI architecture, balanced scorecard frameworks, and operating cadence design.

  • Strong financial acumen, including experience supporting or co-owning a business unit operating plan, headcount model, and investment prioritization process.

  • Proven ability to lead complex, ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives without direct authority over key stakeholders.

  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to create board-quality materials and present clear recommendations grounded in data.

  • Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth transformation environments that require speed, rigor, and resource discipline.

  • Proficiency with enterprise planning tools, OKR platforms, BI and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI, and project or portfolio management systems.

  • PgMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent operational excellence certification preferred.

  • Demonstrate growth potential and learning agility by quickly learning new business contexts, applying lessons across functions, and improving how the business unit operates over time.

  • Show leadership by building trusted relationships, influencing cross-functional partners, constructively challenging senior stakeholders, and aligning teams around shared priorities.

  • Adapt effectively to changing priorities, ambiguity, and evolving business needs while maintaining focus on outcomes and execution.

  • Apply creative thinking to solve operational challenges, improve governance and planning models, and develop practical approaches that create business value.

  • Use analytical skills to interpret operational and financial data, identify patterns and root causes, and support decisions with sound evidence and logic.

  • Nice to have: experience building standardized operating practices across multiple business units and serving as a strategic proxy for business leaders in enterprise forums.

Our Shared Commitments

  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;

  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
