About the Role 

The Senior Domain Engineering Specialist is a high-impact technical advisory role within Veeam’s Center of Expertise, offering the opportunity to work at the intersection of data resilience, security, Veeam Data Platform, and public cloud platforms. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Customer Success Engineers, Customer Success Specialists, Sales Engineers, and Account Teams to help strategic customers accelerate adoption, strengthen resilience, and realize greater value from their investments.  

Veeam Data Platform plays a strategic role in helping customers strengthen cyber resilience, accelerate secure recovery, and protect high-value workloads across increasingly complex hybrid and public cloud environments.  

As part of Veeam’s Center of Expertise, you’ll engage in strategic customer situations where advanced technical knowledge, architectural guidance, and domain expertise directly shape outcomes. You’ll have broad visibility across customer environments and business priorities, making this role especially compelling for candidates who enjoy solving complex challenges, influencing senior stakeholders, and helping customers build resilient architectures for the future.  

You’ll bring expertise across traditional infrastructure, public cloud platforms, virtualization technologies, and cyber resilience architectures, helping customers protect and recover data wherever their applications and workloads reside.  

What You’ll Do 

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor for strategic customer accounts, providing specialized expertise across data resilience, security, and public cloud platforms.  
  • Lead architecture reviews, resilience assessments, operational readiness reviews, and solution validation engagements to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to improve resilience and recoverability.  
  • Engage technical and executive stakeholders on resilience strategy, cyber recovery preparedness, public cloud modernization, and operational best practices.  
  • Provide guidance on protecting and recovering workloads across virtual, physical, public cloud, SaaS, and hybrid environments.  
  • Assess customer architectures and advise on data protection, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and secure recovery strategies across public cloud and enterprise environments.  
  • Analyze telemetry, platform adoption trends, and operational indicators to identify optimization opportunities and expansion signals.  
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales Engineering, Product Management, and Support teams to resolve complex technical challenges and advocate for customer outcomes.  
  • Deliver technical workshops, executive briefings, and strategic advisory sessions that drive adoption and long-term customer success.  
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Vault, public cloud data protection, cyber resilience, and secure recovery strategies.  

What You’ll Bring 

The qualifications below include both core requirements and preferred experience. Candidates do not need to meet every preferred qualification to be considered.  

  • 10+ years of experience in technical consulting, solution architecture, cloud engineering, customer success, infrastructure engineering, or related technical disciplines.  
  • 5+ years of experience with the Veeam Data Cloud Platform (Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam ONE, Veeam Recovery Orchestrator). Additional Veeam product knowledge is a plus. 
  • Strong expertise in public cloud platforms, cyber resilience, data protection technologies, and enterprise infrastructure.  
  • Experience designing, deploying, supporting, or advising on public cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid cloud architectures.  
  • Possess an understanding of cloud architecture, identity and access considerations, security best practices, and modern infrastructure design principles.  
  • Experience with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, secure recovery, or cyber vaulting strategies across public cloud and enterprise environments.  
  • Experience with hybrid cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.  
  • Ability to engage technical and executive stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.  
  • Experience conducting architecture reviews, technical assessments, workshops, proofs of concept, or strategic advisory engagements.  
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.  
  • Preferred: Relevant certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Nutanix, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, security, networking, or equivalent credentials.  
  • VMCE+ and/or VMCSE certifications highly preferred

Compensation Transparency

Veeam is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation. For this role, the compensation range below reflects the expected total target compensation (TTC), inclusive of base pay and a competitive performance-based bonus. For roles with a commission plan, the compensation range represents On Target Earnings (OTE), which includes base salary plus variable commission. When determining compensation, Veeam takes into consideration factors such as experience, education, skills, and geographic zone. Offers are typically made below the midpoint of the range.

In addition to compensation, Veeam provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, retirement plans, and unlimited time off.
