About Us

We are the team behind Envelopes.com, JAM Paper, and Folders.com. For decades, businesses, schools, organizations, and consumers have trusted us for high-quality envelopes, stationery, folders, labels, and office products.

Our brands have long histories and strong reputations, but we are building for what comes next. We are investing heavily in ecommerce, AI, customer experience, and experimentation to create a faster, smarter, more customer-centric organization.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Ecommerce Marketing Manager who can combine strategic thinking with deep, hands-on ecommerce execution. This person will own onsite merchandising and integrated marketing across Envelopes.com, JAM Paper, and Folders.com, while helping build and lead the merchandising capability behind those brands.

This is a senior operating role, not primarily a marketing-calendar or agency-management position. You will be accountable for how customers discover, navigate, evaluate, and purchase from a large, complex catalog with a long tail of SKUs. You will translate commercial priorities into a better Shopify experience, stronger merchandising, coordinated campaigns, and measurable improvements in conversion, average order value, retention, and revenue.

Deep, hands-on Shopify experience is essential. You must be comfortable personally working in Shopify while also setting direction, leading a team, and partnering effectively with developers, designers, analytics, lifecycle marketing, paid media, customer service, and sales.

Shopify Commerce and Site Experience

  • Act as the senior business owner and hands-on operator for our Shopify storefronts. Personally work in Shopify to manage and troubleshoot collections, catalogs, navigation, onsite search, product detail pages, landing pages, promotions, product data, metafields and metaobjects, apps, and theme configuration.
  • Translate business and merchandising needs into clear requirements for developers and agencies, and distinguish what the business team can execute directly from what requires technical support. Establish scalable Shopify operating standards across multiple brands so routine merchandising and campaign changes can be made quickly, accurately, and with minimal dependency on developers. Identify friction in product discovery and the purchase journey, prioritize improvements, and ensure changes are implemented and measured.

Merchandising Strategy and Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing ecommerce merchandising team with clear ownership, workflows, standards, and performance expectations. Create a merchandising strategy for complex product categories and a long tail of SKUs, balancing high-volume products, strategic categories, seasonal demand, inventory priorities, and emerging opportunities.
  • Own taxonomy, category structure, collections, filters, attributes, product relationships, cross-sells, bundles, recommendations, and other product-discovery levers. Develop repeatable processes for product launches, category refreshes, promotional merchandising, and ongoing catalog optimization across three brands.
  • Use customer behavior, search data, conversion performance, inventory, margin, and commercial priorities to determine what products and categories receive prominence. Partner with product-data, operations, and technology teams to improve catalog quality and resolve data issues that affect discoverability or conversion.

Integrated Marketing and Commercial Calendar

  • Own the integrated ecommerce marketing and merchandising calendar across Envelopes.com, JAM Paper, and Folders.com. Turn growth priorities into coordinated campaigns across website merchandising, email and lifecycle marketing, landing pages, paid-media creative, promotions, and product launches.
  • Ensure each initiative has a clear customer insight, commercial objective, success metric, owner, timeline, and post-launch learning plan. Raise the quality of campaigns beyond checkbox marketing by improving relevance, segmentation, creative clarity, and the connection between onsite experience and outbound messaging. Maintain a high execution standard while making thoughtful tradeoffs when priorities or resources change.

Customer Growth, Retention, and Experimentation

  • Develop hypotheses based on customer behavior and design fast, practical experiments to validate them before scaling. Improve how we acquire customers, convert first-time buyers into repeat customers, reactivate lapsed customers, and grow long-term value.
  • Work with lifecycle and analytics partners to strengthen segmentation and personalization by customer type, industry, purchase behavior, product interest, and lifecycle stage. Build a disciplined testing roadmap across merchandising, offers, landing pages, navigation, search, recommendations, messaging, and customer journeys. Turn successful tests into repeatable operating practices rather than one-time wins.

Performance Management

  • Own reporting and business reviews for ecommerce marketing and merchandising performance. Use data to diagnose opportunities, prioritize work, and recommend action, not simply report results.
  • Be fluent in conversion rate, average order value, revenue per visitor, onsite search performance, product and category conversion, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, retention, repeat purchase rate, email engagement, margin, and inventory productivity. Partner with analytics resources on dashboards and deeper analysis while remaining personally capable of answering day-to-day business questions.

Cross-Functional and Creative Leadership

  • Set clear priorities and coordinate work across merchandising, design, ecommerce, lifecycle marketing, paid media, analytics, technology, customer service, sales, and operations. Develop strong creative and campaign briefs, provide clear feedback, and ensure creative work supports both the customer need and commercial objective.
  • Anticipate roadblocks, resolve ambiguity, and keep teams moving without adding unnecessary process. Communicate performance, priorities, risks, and recommendations clearly to ecommerce leadership and other senior stakeholders.

AI-Enabled Ways of Working

  • Use AI to improve the speed and quality of campaign planning, copy development, creative ideation, customer-feedback analysis, research, testing, and recurring workflows. Identify practical opportunities to automate manual marketing and merchandising work while preserving quality and judgment. Help the team adopt repeatable AI-enabled practices rather than relying on occasional, ad hoc use of individual tools.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of ecommerce marketing, ecommerce merchandising, or digital commerce experience, including meaningful ownership of business results.
  • Deep, hands-on experience operating Shopify or Shopify Plus in a complex ecommerce environment. You should be able to demonstrate exactly what you have personally configured, launched, optimized, and troubleshot inside the platform.
  • Experience building, managing, and developing ecommerce merchandising teams. Demonstrated success merchandising complex product categories and large, long-tail catalogs with many product attributes, variants, collections, and customer use cases.
  • Strong knowledge of ecommerce taxonomy, navigation, filtering, onsite search, product recommendations, collection strategy, product detail pages, and promotional merchandising. Experience leading integrated campaigns from strategy through execution and measurement.
  • Strong people leadership, project leadership, and cross-functional influence. Commercial judgment and fluency in ecommerce performance metrics. A testing mindset and the ability to turn customer and performance data into action. Comfort using AI tools as a normal part of how you work.
  • Important Note on Shopify Experience: Candidates whose Shopify experience is limited to executive oversight, agency management, or reviewing reports will not be a fit. We need someone who can set strategy and lead people, but who is also willing and able to work directly in Shopify when the situation requires it.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Searchspring, including search rules, synonyms, redirects, filters and facets, product boosting, recommendations, and merchandising analytics.
  • Experience with Klaviyo, GA4, Shopify analytics, product-information or feed-management tools, experimentation platforms, and business-intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience in a multi-brand, B2B and DTC, office-products, specialty retail, or similarly complex catalog environment. Experience working through a Shopify migration, replatforming, major theme redesign, or significant ecommerce operating-model change.

You'll Thrive Here If You

  • Think like an owner and take responsibility for outcomes. Can move comfortably between strategy, team leadership, and hands-on execution. Enjoy bringing structure and clarity to complex catalogs, systems, and cross-functional work. Are deeply curious about customers and how they shop.
  • Use data to challenge assumptions and make practical decisions. Set a high bar for details without losing sight of commercial priorities. Move with urgency, communicate directly, and solve problems collaboratively. Are energized by building modern ecommerce capabilities and developing strong teams.

Benefits

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to help shape the next stage of three established ecommerce brands. You will have meaningful ownership of our Shopify experience, merchandising organization, and integrated marketing approach in an entrepreneurial environment where strong ideas can move quickly.

If you are a senior ecommerce operator who knows Shopify deeply, understands how to merchandise a complex long-tail catalog, and enjoys building teams and better ways of working, we'd like to hear from you.
