- We connect talented professionals with exciting Australian businesses, giving you the chance to build global experience, grow your career, and do meaningful work—all while being part of a genuinely people-first culture.
- Expect a workplace where you’re supported, trusted, encouraged to keep learning, and given room to make an impact. If you’re ready for your next career move to feel like an upgrade, you’re in the right place.
- Love accounting, but not the part where you’re treated like a human data-entry machine?
- We’re looking for an experienced Senior Finance Operations Accountant to join one of our Australian clients and take substantial ownership of day-to-day accounting across multiple entities.
- This is a role for an accountant who knows that a reconciliation isn’t finished just because the numbers are close. You’ll own assigned month-end activities, prepare review-ready journals and workpapers, investigate discrepancies back to their source, support management reporting and Australian compliance requirements, and improve processes when something is unnecessarily manual or repetitive.
- You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager, who needs a capable accounting partner who can take ownership, think independently, and keep things moving.
- This isn’t a Finance Manager position, and you won’t own the finance transformation. You will, however, be trusted to execute your work independently, exercise sound accounting judgement, and know when an issue genuinely needs escalation.
- Own assigned month-end close activities and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare bank and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain AP and AR records across relevant entities.
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, fixed asset, depreciation, and loan accounting.
- Reconcile intercompany balances, recharges, AP, and AR.
- Prepare review-ready journals, reconciliations, schedules, and work papers.
- Support P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
- Prepare BAS-ready accounting work and support Australian GST requirements.
- Prepare payroll-related journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve reconciling items at source.
- Support variance analysis, budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Maintain audit trails, supporting schedules, and documentation.
- Identify and implement practical finance process, control, and workflow improvements.
- Identify duplicated or unnecessarily manual accounting processes.
- Use approved AI and automation for appropriate accounting activities, with human review and validation.
- Escalate material risks, blockers, and accounting issues to the Finance Manager when required.
Requirements
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
- Accounting or Finance degree.
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
- At least 3 recent years supporting Australian businesses or accounting clients.
- Strong month-end close, reconciliation, and journal preparation experience.
- Practical Australian GST knowledge and experience preparing BAS-ready work.
- Advanced working capability in Xero.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, and data validation.
- Multi-entity and/or intercompany accounting experience.
- Experience preparing review-ready accounting schedules, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies through to verified resolution.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgement when resolving issues independently or escalating to the Finance Manager.
- Philippine CPA qualification strongly preferred.
- Experience with Dext, Hubdoc, ApprovalMax, Employment Hero, Power Query, finance integrations, or comparable platforms.
- Experience improving finance processes, controls, and workflows.
- Familiarity with practical accounting automation and approved AI-assisted workflows.
