About the Job

As a Financial Advisor, you'll serve as the primary advisor and trusted partner to high-net-worth client families, delivering comprehensive financial planning across investments, tax, equity compensation, estate planning, and retirement strategies. You'll lead client meetings, oversee preparation and follow-through, and collaborate with the Portfolio Management team to implement investment strategies aligned with client goals. You'll drive organic growth through client referrals, COI relationships, and partnership with the Business Development team members, while integrating into the firm's planning process, tech stack, and investment philosophy. Above all, the role demands a fiduciary mindset — someone who consistently chooses what's right for the client, across the full wealth management spectrum.

This role is based in Foster City, CA with partner firm Summitry. You will be expected to be fully onsite for the first 30 days then transition to 50% in office per month.

Responsibilities

Below are the core areas of work for this role. Over time, responsibilities may evolve, but this should provide a clear view of what to expect.

  • Serve as the primary advisor and trusted partner to high-net-worth client families (typically $1-5M+ in AUM)

  • Deliver comprehensive financial planning across investments, tax, equity compensation, estate planning, and retirement strategies

  • Lead client meetings and oversee preparation and follow-through

  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Management team to implement investment strategies aligned with client goals

  • Drive organic growth through client referrals, COI relationships, and partnership with the Business Development team

Experiences and Functional Skills Required
  • 3-7 years in wealth management or financial advisory

  • CFP designation required (or completed coursework toward CFP); additional certs a plus: ChFC, CFA, PFS, CPWA, CPA. Series 65 or 66 required. Clean U-4.

  • Book size: 100–120 client households

  • Client segment: HNWI & UHNWI and Families throughout the Bay Area.

    • Technology professionals and executives

    • Founders and entrepreneurs

    • Households with complex equity compensation

    • Clients navigating liquidity events, concentrated stock, and multi-generational planning

  • Comprehensive planning across investments, tax, estate, insurance, and retirement — not a single-product background.

Behaviors and Mindsets Required
  • Relationship-Driven: Builds trust naturally and reads peoples’ implicit intentions

  • Intrinsic Financial Drive: Has a clear desire to make money and win. Goals are self-set and self-enforced. Not shy about wanting financial success

  • Judgment: Makes sound recommendations under uncertainty — weighs tax implications, risk tolerance, estate complexity, insurance needs, and market conditions. Knows when to act decisively vs. when to slow down, gather more information, or bring in specialists.

  • Client Focus: Prioritizes the client’s needs above all else — anticipates concerns before they surface, proactively coordinates across the firm’s specialists (tax, estate, insurance, investments), and ensures every interaction reinforces the client’s confidence in the relationship. Ensures retention through service quality, not sales pressure.

Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee health, financial security, and overall well-being. Full-time employees in this role are eligible for:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contributions
