Description
CDW Government is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to serve as a hands-on principal engineer for public health and disease surveillance solutions. This individual will provide technical leadership across front-end, back-end, integration, and data workflows, with emphasis on public health data, record linking, DIBBS integrations, and CDC reporting.
What You Will Do
• Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of scalable client-side and server-side applications supporting public health disease surveillance. • Set technical direction, make key design decisions, review code, mentor engineers, and resolve complex engineering issues. • Design and implement public health data integrations, including DIBBS workflows, APIs, HL7 and FHIR exchanges, and reliable data-transformation and validation pipelines. • Lead record linking, matching, deduplication, and identity-resolution solutions that improve data quality and connect surveillance records across source systems. • Transate CDC reporting requirements into production-ready workflows for mapping, validation, submission, error handling, and troubleshooting. • Partner with product managers, public health subject-matter experts, data engineers, designers, engineers, and client stakeholders. • Apply automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, secure coding, and cloud-engineering best practices.
What We Expect of You
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. • 10+ years of professional software-engineering experience, including experience acting as a principal, staff, or lead engineer on complex systems. • 4+ years of experience working directly with public health data and disease surveillance systems. • Demonstrated expertise in record linking, entity resolution, matching, and deduplication for public health data. • Hands-on DIBBS integration experience and experience integrating public health data through APIs and interoperability standards. • Expert knowledge of CDC surveillance reporting requirements and data-exchange workflows, including mapping, validation, submission, and troubleshooting. • Strong full-stack development experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, JavaScript, relational databases, REST APIs, and AWS or a similar cloud platform. • Experience designing distributed, scalable, high-volume systems and data-intensive services. • Strong automated testing, test-driven development or self-testing code, continuous integration and delivery, and DevSecOps practices. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-collaboration skills. • Strong ownership and the ability to translate complex public health requirements into practical, maintainable technical solutions.
