About Us

Circle is building the world’s leading AI-powered, all-in-one platform for digital businesses. We make it possible for creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to bring together their audience with engaging discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments — all in one place, all under their own brand.

We’re proud to be a fully remote company of around 270 (and growing!) team members from 30+ countries around the world. We seek exceptional individuals around the world, set them up to do the best work of their lives, and in turn, create a meaningful impact in their own lives. We don't track hours, but we do manage for high expectations very closely. We collaborate across time zones, are highly async, and like to document a lot.

Twice a year, we bring the whole company together in beautiful places around the world for our company offsites. So far, we’ve hosted offsites in Turkey, Portugal, Mexico, Thailand, Colombia, Italy, Ireland, and more, with still more to come!

Check out our Careers page for more about working at Circle.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join the CMS Platform team. CMS Platform owns the systems for composing and presenting content across Circle, including our Page Builder experience and forms, plus laying the groundwork for future AI-first interfaces.

You’ll work across product-facing experiences (editing, previewing, publishing, layout, components) and the backend systems that make them possible (content models, rendering/publishing pipelines, permissions, and performance). If you enjoy turning ambitious product ideas into polished, scalable systems, this role is for you.

What you'll be doing
  • Build and ship Page Builder features that directly impact how customers design and publish their sites.

  • Work across the stack using React & TypeScript (frontend) and Ruby on Rails (backend).

  • Partner closely with product/design to translate specs into high-quality, user-friendly experiences.

  • Improve the architecture of the builder/editor and publishing pipeline for reliability, extensibility, and performance.

  • Own projects end-to-end—from technical design through implementation, testing, rollout, and iteration.

  • Review PRs thoughtfully and contribute to a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

  • Work async-first and communicate clearly and proactively.

What you'll need to be successful
  • Strong alignment with our values. Find our values on our career page if you haven’t read up on them yet.

  • 5+ years of experience building and scaling SaaS products.

  • Deep experience with Ruby on Rails and strong proficiency with React & TypeScript.

  • A product mindset—you care about the “why,” sweat UX details, and iterate based on customer needs.

  • Experience building complex, stateful UI (editors, builders, or design tools) and/or the systems behind them.

  • Solid architectural judgment and a high bar for quality, balanced with pragmatism.

  • Comfort working with and alongside AI tools in your development workflow.

  • Excellent async communication and collaboration skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C2 or equivalent), as most collaboration at Circle happens asynchronously.

Bonus points
  • Experience working on site builders, page editors, or CMS platforms.

  • Experience with rich text/content editing, drag-and-drop interactions, component systems, or design tooling.

  • Familiarity with web performance, caching strategies, and scaling high-traffic rendering/publishing systems.

  • Prior experience at an early-stage or growth-stage startup.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or developer communities.
