Ardent is seeking a Senior Geospatial Analyst to join our team.
This is a remote position.
Position Description:
Ardent is seeking a Senior Geospatial Analyst to support geospatial data analysis, quality assurance, and data management activities in support of DHS Geospatial Management Office (GMO) programs. This role is responsible for performing advanced geospatial analysis, validating datasets, and supporting mission partners through the delivery of accurate, reliable, and actionable geospatial products.
The Senior Geospatial Analyst will work across data acquisition, data management, and stakeholder engagement functions to ensure geospatial data meets mission requirements. This position also provides guidance to junior team members and contributes to continuous improvement of data quality, metadata standards, and analytical processes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform advanced geospatial analysis to support DHS mission needs and operational requirements.
- Conduct data validation and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on geospatial datasets.
- Review, analyze, and interpret geospatial data to identify trends, gaps, and inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain geospatial metadata in accordance with federal and DHS standards.
- Support data cataloging, registration, and publication within geospatial platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and support mission use cases.
- Develop analytical products including reports, dashboards, maps, and visualizations.
- Support data integration, processing, and transformation activities across systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement of data quality standards, workflows, and processes.
- Provide guidance and work leadership to junior team members.
- Assist in documenting analytical processes, methodologies, and findings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 6+ years of experience performing geospatial analysis.
- Experience conducting QA/QC on geospatial datasets.
- Proficiency with GIS tools such as Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).
- Experience working with geospatial data formats, metadata, and data standards.
- Experience developing maps, reports, and geospatial visualizations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DHS or other federal government geospatial programs.
- Familiarity with HIFLD, GII, or similar geospatial data platforms.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python).
- Experience working with large-scale geospatial datasets and enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with data cataloging, publishing, and metadata standards (e.g., FGDC, ISO).
