Skydio is the leading US drone company and the world leader in autonomous flight, the key technology for the future of drones and aerial mobility. The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in-class hardware and software product development, operational excellence, and customer obsession to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users, from utility inspectors to first responders, soldiers in battlefield scenarios, and beyond.

About the role:

As Skydio grows and introduces new products, the Senior Global Supply Manager for Electrical and Electronic components will build and execute sourcing strategies that keep programs on schedule and manage costs. This is a hands-on role: you’ll work through immediate supply and production challenges while developing the processes, tools, and supplier strategies needed to support long-term growth.

You’ll own sourcing strategies across a broad EE portfolio, including semiconductors, compute, memory, power devices, RF and cellular components, passives, connectors, and electrical assemblies. You’ll work closely with Product Design, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance to guide supplier and component selection during NPI and sustaining programs, align supply plans with product roadmaps, and support Skydio’s in-house manufacturing of complex electromechanical systems.

You’ll assess and improve existing suppliers, identify and qualify new suppliers with access to differentiated technologies, and build sourcing and distribution strategies suited to each component category. This includes managing direct supplier relationships and distributor channels, negotiating commercial terms, developing cost models, and planning for demand, capacity, lead times, allocation, and component lifecycle risks.

You’ll help shape Skydio’s supply chain and sourcing processes, tools, and operating plans. Your work will support on-time customer fulfillment, cost reduction, efficient inventory, capacity growth, NPI readiness, and a resilient, scalable EE supply base. You’ll bring market insight and practical solutions to sourcing, procurement, forecasting, and production challenges, and communicate plans and tradeoffs clearly across technical and executive teams.
How you'll make an impact:

  • Experience managing a broad electronic component portfolio, including semiconductors, memory, RF and cellular components, power devices, connectors, electromechanical components, and passive components such as capacitors, resistors, and inductors.

  • Ability to develop sourcing strategies tailored to each component category, considering supplier landscape, technology differentiation, spend, lead times, qualification requirements, lifecycle risk, and supply availability.

  • Familiarity with the semiconductor and electronic component distribution ecosystem, including when to source directly from manufacturers, through authorized distributors, or through other approved channels.

  • Experience building distributor strategies that balance pricing, access to constrained supply, inventory availability, lead-time support, technical resources, and risk of excess or obsolete inventory.

  • Understanding of component lifecycle management, including product change notifications, end-of-life planning, last-time buys, redesign options, and qualification of alternate sources.

  • Experience managing allocation and shortage risks across multiple suppliers and channels, including demand forecasting, supply agreements, inventory commitments, and escalation with supplier leadership.

  • Ability to assess and mitigate sourcing risks such as sole-source exposure, counterfeit components, unauthorized-channel purchases, geographic concentration, and country-of-origin requirements.

  • Working knowledge of electronic component cost drivers and market dynamics, including raw materials, manufacturing capacity, packaging, test, yield, and channel markups.

  • Experience partnering with engineering and quality teams to qualify components and suppliers, manage approved vendor and part lists, and evaluate alternatives without compromising product performance or reliability.

  • Ability to create and maintain commodity-level plans that connect supplier strategy, pricing, forecasted demand, inventory, risk mitigation, and product roadmaps.

What makes you a good fit:

  • Strong practical knowledge and healthy enjoyment of manufacturing, supply chain, and purchasing processes and practices

  • Strength in directing complex negotiations, RFP issues, cost/price analysis and purchasing procedures

  • Experience using cost models to define should-cost and negotiating price for sourcing and cost reduction

  • Flexibility to work and achieve goals in a fast-paced start-up environment with an ability to adapt to changing circumstances

  • Ability to understand strategic goals and effectively communicate detailed plans across various management levels as well as multiple regional and geographic locals

  • Ability to prepare and present quantitative and qualitative comparative analysis of sourcing alternatives

  • Abundant knowledge of the silicon industry, including market trends, supplier knowledge, and technology developments

  • Experience engaging and negotiating with large semiconductor suppliers and influencing at executive levels.

  • Ability to manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to, dispute resolution

  • Interest in keeping up with emerging technologies spanning consumer electronics, aerospace, and robotics

  • Detail-oriented, team-oriented, with enthusiasm for learning new things. Interest in keeping up with emerging technologies spanning consumer electronics, aerospace, and robotics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong ethics and professionalism; ability to present strategy and recommendations to C-Suite executives.

  • Technical degree or comparable work experience required

  • Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions.
