Who we’re looking for

Fieldwire is looking for a senior iOS engineer to lead our team of talented engineers. Our iOS app is built native (originally in Obj-C, but with new development in Swift) from the ground up to maximize performance and work in any customer environment, online or offline. We believe that native apps should make the most out of their platform and embrace iOS at its core, from adhering to Apple Design guidelines to using new iOS features.

The iOS team at Fieldwire builds the highest rated construction app on the App Store. Our engineering teams are multi-functional, co-located with product and design. Fieldwire’s mobile apps are mission critical for the construction teams that use Fieldwire every day to save time and money on the jobsite. 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain our iOS app in Obj-C and Swift
  • Take the lead on triaging issues and debugging challenging problems using appropriate tools
  • Prepare and refine features and tasks based on input from stakeholders across the company, and help other team members contribute to their fullest
  • Work with design and product teams to build high impact features, including guiding cross-functional work
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest and greatest in iOS development
  • Contribute significantly to our engineering standards, tooling, and processes

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ Years of Experience working on a production iOS app
  • Experience with modern iOS development
  • Expert at writing clean, well-tested, and modular code in Swift
  • Expert understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Experience guiding others, building team capabilities and skills

Strongly desired experience:

  • Experience with CoreData, Obj-C, and XCTest frameworks
  • Knowledge of iOS design patterns like MVVM
  • Experience with advanced debugging tools for memory and performance issues
  • Experience with SceneKit and 3D modeling technologies

Compensation:

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: $170,000-$195,000 

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and Maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors such as your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition to the salary, you may be eligible for a corporate bonus which can range up to 20%.

Where is the job located?

This role is a hybrid role based in San Francisco. Our headquarters is based in San Francisco, and our office is centrally located right off of Embarcadero Bart station.
