About Wing:

Wing offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last mile logistics. Consumer appetites for on-demand services are increasing, but current delivery methods are inefficient, costly, and contribute to road accidents and air pollution. Wing’s fleet of highly automated delivery drones can transport small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. We design, build, and operate our aircraft, and offer drone delivery services on two continents. Our technology is designed to be easy to integrate into existing delivery and logistics networks, offering a scalable drone delivery solution for a broad range of businesses. Wing is a part of Google's parent company, Alphabet, and our mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet. If you're ready to do the greatest work of your life, come join us.

About the Role:

Wing is looking for a Senior iOS Software Engineer to join our Commerce Engineering team. This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA. In Commerce, our mission is to get Wing's drone delivery into the hands of partners and customers. Our team builds APIs, tools and customer facing applications, enabling Wing drone delivery for businesses. We build safe, reliable, and scalable systems, with a detail oriented mindset, delivering a customer first experience. This position seeks highly-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a highly dynamic and collaborative team environment. The successful candidate is able to identify areas in need of investment, set solution strategy, influence team direction, and have direct impact through their technical contributions, cutting through ambiguity, and designing and building complex systems. We’re looking for people who are intrinsically driven to collaborate on hard problems, drive simple solutions, and take pride in their team's work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Set solution and/or architectural strategy for yourself or a limited number of peers, cutting through ambiguity, and pre-empt complicating factors ahead of time
  • Design and build a performant iOS application, in collaboration with backend engineers and other web/mobile engineers, in a privacy and security conscious ecosystem
  • Investigate and build software in areas with limited expertise and make an immediate impact
  • Collaborate cross functionally with business partners, product managers, and program managers to design, implement and quickly launch new features for partners and end consumers, on time
  • Mitigate, root cause and resolve urgent, time sensitive issues, in both familiar and unfamiliar software, as part of an on-call rotation, or other escalations
  • Contribute to a team culture of support, engagement and quality, ensuring Wing can scale as a business

What You’ll Need:

  • 8+ years of experience designing and developing iOS applications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and experience working in a collaborative team
  • Ability to identify challenging problems and potential solutions with limited guidance, launch and successfully land the solution without any complications
  • Experience developing in Objective C and/or Swift
