About the Role

Our company is seeking a highly skilled IRIS/Cache ObjectScript/MUMPS developer to join our fast-growing IT-project based consulting business. Our team is working with a large federal agency to modernize all aspects of their health services application portfolio and we need top notch technical skills to get it done! We need a well-rounded team member with a background in InterSystems IRIS ObjectScript, MUMPS/CACHE development and integration that can work within an Agile team environment to maintain, enhance, integrate, and modernize healthcare applications, including VistA applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with InterSystems IRIS and ObjectScript, including development using ObjectScript routines, classes, methods as well as globals, data structures, and database capabilities. Experience working with legacy MUMPS/CACHE applications and transitioning or integrating those applications with IRIS-based solutions is highly valuable.

The IRIS/Cache ObjectScript/MUMPS developer will collaborate with a mix of technical experts and architects, business/product owners, business analysts, technical writers, testers, and scrum masters in a DevSecOps focused, Agile-Scrum environment. Our team members must have a proactive nature. Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in InterSystems IRIS ObjectScript and MUMPS/CACHE development, integration, and deployment.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using IRIS ObjectScript.
• Develop and maintain ObjectScript routines, classes, methods, globals, and data structures.
• Work with both object-oriented ObjectScript development and traditional MUMPS code as required by existing healthcare applications.
• Support the maintenance, enhancement, modernization, and integration of VistA and other healthcare applications.
• Support HL7 messaging, healthcare interoperability, and healthcare data management initiatives.
• Develop and support interfaces and integrations between IRIS, VistA, and external healthcare systems.
• Work with IRIS database technologies, including globals, persistent classes, and SQL-based data access.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application, integration, and database issues.
• Support modernization and migration efforts involving legacy MUMPS/CACHE applications and InterSystems IRIS.
• Work within an Agile Scrum and DevSecOps environment.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and system architecture.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable ObjectScript/MUMPS code.
• Participate in backlog refinement, estimation, and sprint activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience with InterSystems IRIS ObjectScript and/or MUMPS/Caché software development.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining ObjectScript routines, classes, methods, globals, and data structures.
• Experience working with InterSystems IRIS or Caché database technologies.
• Experience with MUMPS development and the ability to work with existing legacy MUMPS code.
• Experience with HL7 messaging development and integration.
• Knowledge of software development, web applications, REST APIs, web services, and architectural patterns.
• Experience troubleshooting application, database, and integration issues.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Ability to work remotely.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing or supporting VA VistA applications.
• Experience modernizing, migrating, or integrating legacy MUMPS/Caché applications with InterSystems IRIS.
• Experience with IRIS SQL, persistent classes, and object-oriented development.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability and healthcare data integration.
• Experience with Agile frameworks and regression testing.
• Knowledge of VA TRM compliance.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• SAFe certification.
