Performs laboratory tests using general and designated equipment, builds or adapts test setups, examines samples, interprets schematics, records and analyzes test data, and maintains equipment and work areas. The role prepares data sheets, assembles results for distribution, follows applicable testing requirements and security practices, and collaborates with engineers, laboratory personnel, supervisors, and customers.

The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 to $60,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).

- Builds and/or adapts unique setup and test equipment for complex tests using independent judgment.
- Applies working knowledge of applicable test requirements and performs tests using general laboratory equipment.
- Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
- Operates a computer to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
- Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
- Determines need for and seeks consultation from engineers or laboratory technicians.
- Analyzes test results.
- Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
- Receives instructions from and reports data to supervisor and personnel in engineering and laboratory operations as needed.
- Prepares data sheets and records observed or calculated test results.
- Assembles test data for appropriate distribution.
- Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Performs other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Higher Secondary Education plus one to two years related experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative and creative.
- Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.
- Ability to incorporate computer skills into day-to-day testing.
