Ready to tackle global challenges that impact business, society, and the environment? Come join us.

The opportunity

Flexport operates at the intersection of global trade, technology, and policy — which means the stories we tell matter. We're looking for a Senior Manager, Communications & Content to drive forward how Flexport shows up in the world: in the press, on our blog, across social channels, in customer inboxes, and inside the company.

This is a high-visibility, high-trust role. You'll work directly with our CEO & Founder and members of the leadership team to shape Flexport's narrative and ensure we're part of the conversations that matter — from supply chain disruptions and trade policy shifts to AI innovation and the future of logistics. You'll also be the person who makes sure our customers and employees hear from us clearly, consistently, and at the right moments.

This role requires someone who can toggle between crafting a pitch to a Tier 1 reporter, writing a customer email about a service change, coaching an executive before a live interview, and developing a content calendar that ties Flexport's story to the biggest themes in global commerce — all in the same week.

You will

Public Relations & Media

  • Support Flexport's PR strategy end-to-end: proactive media pitching, inbound media management, press releases, and rapid response.
  • Build and deepen relationships with key reporters and outlets covering logistics, trade, technology, and business.
  • Develop and execute a thought leadership program that positions Flexport's CEO & Founder and other senior leaders as go-to voices on global trade, supply chain innovation, and AI in logistics.
  • Staff and prep spokespeople for interviews, panels, and media appearances — including media training, message development, and briefing documents.
  • Monitor the news cycle for opportunities to insert Flexport into breaking stories and larger industry narratives.

Content Strategy

  • Shape Flexport's content strategy and content development across blog, social media, website, webinars, and other owned channels.
  • Define and evolve Flexport's narrative — how we talk about ourselves, how we connect our platform and products to the macro stories reshaping global trade, and how we differentiate from legacy freight forwarders.
  • Build an editorial engine that produces high-quality, consistent content that serves demand generation, brand awareness, and customer education goals.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Growth Marketing to ensure content supports campaigns, product launches, and pipeline objectives.

Customer Communications

  • Own the voice and cadence of how Flexport communicates with customers outside of product and transactional workflows — service updates, policy changes, product announcements, and other moments that require clear, trustworthy messaging.
  • Develop frameworks and templates that ensure customer-facing communications are timely, accurate, and on-brand, especially during high-stakes moments like trade policy shifts or service disruptions.
  • Partner with Customer Success, Operations, and Product teams to coordinate messaging and ensure alignment across touch points.

AI & Efficiency

  • Leverage AI tools across the communications function — from drafting and editing content, to media monitoring and research, to automating repetitive workflows — so a lean team can operate with the output and speed of a much larger one.
  • Stay current on how AI is changing PR, content, and communications, and bring new tools and approaches into the team's daily work.
You should have
  • 7+ years of experience spanning PR, communications, and content. A mix of agency and in-house experience is ideal.
  • Proven media relationships and a track record of landing meaningful coverage in top-tier business, trade, and technology outlets. You know how to pitch, and reporters know your name.
  • Experience as a communications partner to senior executives — you've prepped leaders for interviews, developed thought leadership platforms, and know how to translate a leader's vision into a public narrative.
  • Strong editorial instincts and the ability to build a content program from strategy through execution. You can write, and you can also build systems that scale content without sacrificing quality.
  • Experience owning customer communications in a B2B environment, particularly during complex or sensitive moments like service changes, pricing updates, or industry disruptions.
  • The ability to move fast, manage multiple workstreams at once, and exercise excellent judgment about what to say, when to say it, and how.
  • Familiarity with the logistics, supply chain, or trade industry is a strong plus — but a fast learner with deep B2B or tech experience can thrive here too.
  • You actively use AI tools to drive efficiencies across content production, media monitoring, research, and workflow automation. This isn't a nice-to-have — we want someone who is already using AI to make a small team move like a big one.
