StubHub is on a mission to redefine the live event experience on a global scale. Whether someone is looking to attend their first event or their hundredth, we’re here to delight them all the way from the moment they start looking for a ticket until they step through the gate. The same goes for our sellers. StubHub's seeking a passionate, culturally fluent, and strategically sharp communicator to join our team as Senior Manager, Consumer & Cultural Communications (Sports). Reporting to the Head of Consumer, Product & Tech Communications, this role sits at the intersection of sports fandom, cultural authority, and earned media credibility. You will own StubHub's sports communications narrative — translating the emotional, tribal, and identity-driven nature of sports fandom into compelling media stories that reinforce StubHub's position as the platform that truly understands fans and why they show up.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sports communications strategy that builds StubHub's authority as the definitive platform for live sports experiences, driving earned media across tentpole moments including league kickoffs, women's sports growth, and global tournaments.
  • Own and grow sports media relations, building and managing relationships with sports, business, and culture reporters across print, digital, and broadcast outlets; serve as a trusted internal source on fan demand, loyalty trends, and cultural moments in sports.
  • Lead consumer-facing sports storytelling, crafting insight-led narratives that speak to the emotional stakes of live sports attendance and StubHub's role in making those moments possible.
  • Surface and develop compelling human stories — fan profiles, community narratives, and cultural moments — that bring the fan experience to life and earn meaningful media coverage.
  • Anchor high-visibility calendar moments with proactive, data-backed communications campaigns that position StubHub as an authority on sports fandom and ticket demand.
  • Partner closely with Corporate, Policy, and Government Relations Communications teams to ensure alignment and message consistency on sensitive or high-stakes sports moments, including legislative or regulatory matters involving ticketing.
  • Monitor the sports media and cultural landscape to identify emerging trends, opportunities for proactive storytelling, and moments requiring rapid response.
  • Contribute to broader consumer communications team initiatives, sharing sports-specific insights that inform company-wide messaging and positioning.

Who You Are:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in sports communications, consumer communications, or a closely related field, with a demonstrated ability to operate independently and lead workstreams.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Proven track record of securing impactful earned media coverage in sports, business, and culture press.
  • Strong, established relationships with reporters and editors covering sports, sports business, and consumer culture.
  • Fluency in both cultural fandom and data-backed storytelling — equally comfortable pitching a fan story and presenting demand trend data to a business reporter.
  • Deep knowledge of the sports media landscape, including digital, social, and emerging platforms.
  • Calm, strategic, and decisive under pressure, with experience navigating fast-moving news cycles and high-stakes moments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

What We Offer:

  • Accelerated Growth Environment: An environment designed for swift skill and knowledge enhancement, where you have the autonomy to lead experiments and tests on a massive scale.
  • Top Tier Compensation Package: Competitive base, equity, and upside that tracks with your impact.
  • Flexible Time Off: Enjoy unlimited Flex Time Off, giving you the flexibility to manage your schedule and take time to recharge as needed.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Prioritize your well-being with a comprehensive benefits package, featuring 401k, and premium Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance options.
