At Ouster, we design and manufacture LIDAR sensors for precision mapping, robotics, automotive,  security systems, smart cities and various industrial solutions. We've transformed LIDAR from an analog device with thousands of components to an elegant digital device powered by one chip-scale laser array and one CMOS sensor. The result is a full range of high-resolution LIDAR sensors that deliver superior imaging at a dramatically lower price. If you’re motivated by solving big problems, we’re hiring key roles across the company and need your help!

  • Narrative & Message Consistency: Maintain our core corporate messaging and ensure its consistent application across all external-facing materials, including investor materials, the company website, marketing content, and social media.
  • PR Agency Management: Lead coordination with our external PR agency. You will help direct their outreach efforts, vet media inquiries, and ensure agency activities align with our business goals.
  • Thought Leadership: Assist in the preparation of briefing materials and talking points for executive speaking engagements and media interviews.
  • Internal Communications: Partner with the People and Legal teams to support the development of internal messaging to keep Ouster’s global team aligned on strategy, compliance, news, and culture.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Highly Organized: You thrive on managing multiple projects and driving to execution.
  • Storyteller: You can synthesize technical insights and financial data into clear, compelling narratives for a broad audience.
  • Public Company Fluency: You are comfortable with the pace and regulatory requirements of a publicly traded company.
  • Collaborative: You are a "doer" who builds strong relationships across the organization to get the information you need to tell a great story.
Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of experience in Corporate Communications (in-house experience in a tech-driven environment is highly preferred).
  • Public Market Experience: Experience working within a publicly traded company is essential.
  • Industry Experience: Familiarity with the technology or relevant industry sectors.
  • Writing Excellence: Exceptional drafting and editing skills with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.
