What you'll do:

This role will oversee the execution of the Bank’s Strategic Planning Process through development, progress monitoring and collaboration across management levels to achieve effective development of the bank’s 3-year strategic plan. This role reports to the leader of Corporate Strategy & Planning under the CFO and will support the bank’s executive leadership team and their sub functions, positioning yourself at the crucial intersection of business, finance, technology and industry to manage the development of business & operational strategies to achieve full implementation of the Bank’s Strategic Plan.
  • Leads the development and execution of the annual enterprise-wide strategic plan, working alongside bank’s senior management to achieve proper planning of business initiatives to align with the overall growth strategy, and safety and soundness of the Bank.
  • Supports the executive leadership team to determine the bank’s corporate priorities and enterprise initiatives for the Bank by developing line of business strategic plans in partnership with business leaders & strategy business partners while identifying recurring issues to help mitigate enterprise risks.
  • Leads the intake, alignment & prioritization evaluation of business & corporate support initiatives gathered from the Strategic Planning process that best provides enterprise level impact, business growth & shareholder value.
  • In support of the bank’s annual strategic planning process, evaluate implications of operating environment and competitive landscape factors by understanding key economic, industry, product and bank trends to support development of strategy materials. Facilitate internal discussions with senior business executives to ensure alignment between corporate strategy and functional areas. 
  • Partners with business & technology leaders to help identify, evaluate, research emerging opportunities with potential to materially impact banking industry, accelerate business growth and drive efficiency gains.
  • Oversee the Bank’s Strategic Plan integration through extensive enterprise processes to enhance the interconnectivity of strategic planning into the annual budget process, operational planning, capital planning, risk appetite and technology investment committees.
  • Will support the implementation and management of the Bank’s Management KPI Methodology, working cross functionally with executive stakeholders to ensure buy-in of execution
  • Supports the Executive Quarterly Business Review meetings to ensure alignment of business initiatives, KPI’s, KRIs, and financial budgets towards the bank’s Strategic Plan growth objectives and financial targets.
  • Comfortable with a 10-15% travel schedule to attend offsite executive planning sessions and to attend various banking & industry aligned conferences to gather industry insights.

What you'll need:

  • Advanced knowledge of the banking sector and financial services, including an understanding of bank products, services, regulations, policies and procedures, with an emphasis on deposit markets, commercial & industrial lending, commercial real estate and various niche markets
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required – MBA Degree Preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in enterprise strategic planning through an internal strategy or planning team or through a management or strategy consulting firm or within the Financial Services industry
  • Expert at managing business, risk, finance and technology stakeholder expectations utilizing strategic or business planning prioritization metrics analyzing bank investments & budgets to achieve a corporate strategy
  • Expert at advising enterprise level planning, transformation efforts & initiatives and creating / presenting executive and board level presentations while managing ambiguity throughout the creative process
  • Expert with regulatory regulations & Enhanced Guidelines for Planning (Strategic, Operational & Technology)
  • Entrepreneurial & proactive in identifying opportunities and solutions utilizing your strong business acumen and analytical problem-solving skills to help inform decision-making for senior leaders

Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $182,325.00 - $225,000.00 for San Francisco, CA. Salary range for new hires is generally $182,325.00 - $225,000.00 for New York, NY. Salary range for new hires is generally $169,400.00 - $209,000.00 for Chicago, IL. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
