  Position Summary

The Senior Manager or Director of Energy Project Development will lead Antora's efforts to identify, evaluate, acquire, and complete development of energy projects for long duration energy storage (LDES) deployment. This role sits at the intersection of M&A and project development—evaluating projects for acquisition, negotiating purchase terms and development agreements, and shepherding projects through to deployment readiness. The Senior Manager will manage relationships with renewable developers, navigate data rooms and due diligence processes, and serve as Antora's primary point of contact for project acquisition and partnership opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Project Evaluation & Acquisition

    • Review and evaluate projects for sale, including site visits, data room analysis, and technical/commercial due diligence.
    • Develop and apply project scoring frameworks to prioritize acquisition opportunities based on site quality, development status, market access, and strategic fit.
    • Recommend purchase terms and deal structures; prepare investment memos for leadership review.
    • Lead negotiations for project acquisitions, including MIPA (Membership Interest Purchase Agreements) and asset purchase agreements.

    Project Development

    • Complete development of acquired projects—either directly or through outsourced development support—including permitting, interconnection, land rights.
    • Negotiate project development agreements with partners (e.g., co-development arrangements, development services agreements).
    • Manage external consultants, engineers, and legal counsel supporting project development activities.
    • Co-develop renewables and storage projects alongside joint venture partners
    • Track and manage project development budgets, schedules, and risk registers.

    Developer Relationships & Origination

    • Build and manage relationships with renewable developers, IPPs, and project owners to source acquisition and partnership opportunities.
    • Manage NDA processes, data room access, and ongoing communication with potential sellers and partners.
    • Work closely with developers to understand their portfolios and identify projects that could be attractive for LDES deployment.
    • Coordinate with business development to align project acquisition strategy with commercial pipeline and customer opportunities.

    Internal Coordination

    • Partner with Engineering and Supply Chain teams to assess project feasibility and integration requirements.
    • Collaborate with Finance and Legal on deal structuring, project financing considerations, and transaction execution.
    • Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline status, deal progress, and market intelligence from developer conversations.
 Key Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with direct experience in project acquisition, M&A, or development partnerships.
  • Track record of successfully acquiring and developing utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage, or similar).
  • Strong commercial judgment with ability to evaluate project economics, identify risks, and structure deals appropriately.
  • Experience negotiating MIPAs, asset purchase agreements, project development agreements, and related transaction documents.
  • Familiarity with project development processes including permitting, interconnection, land/real estate, and offtake.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and counterparty relationships simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to distill complex project details into clear recommendations for leadership.
 Additional Qualifications Desired
  • Experience with energy storage project development or integration of storage into renewable projects.
  • Background in project finance or infrastructure M&A.
  • Existing relationships with renewable developers, IPPs, or project owners in key US markets.
  • Experience working in early-stage or high-growth companies where processes are still being built.
