Overview
This role leads Prosci's IT engineering team and owns engineering delivery and production operations across our Azure environments, Microsoft 365 tenant, information security controls, open enrollment platform, and enterprise AI tooling. The role acts as the technical counterpart to our engineering partners and builds a team that can take on work Prosci has historically outsourced. The role works in the IT Center of Acceleration (CoA) and report to the VP, IT.

The IT CoA provides the people, processes, and tools that keep Prosci running. In 2026, IT supports three company initiatives: Everyday Excellence (unifying our ERP, CRM, and data infrastructure), the modernization of our open enrolment training platform, and Elevate, our AI capability program.
Lead and Grow the Engineering Team

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Security Architect, Senior Cloud Engineer, Microsoft 365 Senior Engineer, and Senior AI Enablement Engineer.
  • Plan capacity and hiring, and provide budget input, including vendor spend and cloud costs.
  • Build the runbooks, on-call rotation, documentation, and operating rhythms that make a small group of strong engineers a durable team.
  • Run the team's delivery cadence, including intake, prioritization, sprints, and reporting, so business partners know what is in progress and when it will land.

Deliver and Operate Our Platforms

  • Own engineering for the Microsoft 365 tenant, covering identity, device management, collaboration, and data protection.
  • Oversee the engineering of Claude, our enterprise AI platform, so AI tooling, connectors, and guardrails meet the same security and operational standards as the rest of the estate.
  • Own engineering delivery and production operations for the open enrollment platform in Azure, from vendor UAT and launch through handover to in-house ownership.
  • Own the infrastructure side of the Azure data platform (Data Factory, Blob Storage, Power BI capacity).
  • Drive the security maturity roadmap with the Security Architect.
  • Ensure every engineering change meets ISO 27001 controls and the Systems & Data Governance Council's change-control policy.

Partner and Transition Work In-House

  • Act as Prosci's technical counterpart to engineering and platform partners, including our managed-engineering partner and the open enrollment platform vendor.
  • Lead the transition of outsourced work to in-house ownership.
  • Partner with the Enterprise Systems & Data Architect, Sr. Systems & Salesforce Admin, and Integration Specialist on infrastructure, security, and integration dependencies, including the NetSuite migration.
  • Partner with the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Systems on the handoff to the global service desk so what your team builds can be supported.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Within 6 months, your engineering team is fully staffed and onboarded, with on-call in place and a visible delivery cadence.
  • Within 6 months, the open enrollment platform has launched and production operations have moved from the vendor to your team.
  • Within 6 months, every engineering activity performed by our managed-engineering partner (Microsoft 365 and cloud) has a named internal owner or a documented decision to keep it outsourced.
  • Every month, you report engineering status, risks, and next milestones to the VP, IT and the Governance Council.
  • Within 12 months, engineering changes consistently meet ISO 27001 controls and change-control policy.

Key Stakeholders

  • VP, IT; Sr. Manager, Enterprise Systems; business-systems architecture team; Delivery; Systems & Data Governance Council; managed-engineering partner; open enrolment platform vendor

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Eight or more years in engineering or infrastructure roles, including three or more years managing engineers with direct reports.
  • Experience taking over a vendor-built platform and running it in-house.
  • Experience operating within an ISO 27001 or SOC 2 control environment.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on depth in cloud platforms (Azure preferred, or AWS) and in running customer-facing production systems: on-call, incident management, capacity, and disaster recovery.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration in an enterprise tenant.
  • Working knowledge of security architecture and compliance controls, enough to be a real partner to a Security Architect.
  • Experience managing external engineering or managed-service vendors against defined outcomes, including transitioning work in-house.
  • Working knowledge of IT service management and change control (ITIL or equivalent) and of agile delivery practices.
  • Clear, calm communication with executives and business partners; you can explain a technical trade-off in one paragraph.

Additional Preferences

  • Experience in a professional services, training, or consulting company where systems must support both internal operations and client-facing delivery.
  • Familiarity with structured change management practice; the Prosci Methodology is a plus, and we will teach you.
