Ready to Be a Titan?

At ServiceTitan, we build the operating system for the trades – a comprehensive platform that powers scheduling and dispatch, CRM, payments, financing, reporting, and more for thousands of service businesses across the U.S. and beyond. We apply Machine Learning and AI throughout to automate workflows, surface insights, and help our customers run better businesses. We’re a quality-driven engineering organization working on the cutting edge of the .NET platform – designing systems for scale, solving hard technical problems, and holding a high bar for craft. If that’s the kind of work that excites you, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager who can lead high-impact teams, operate effectively in ambiguity, and guide the design and delivery of scalable, cross-cutting systems that span multiple domains. This role is ideal for a senior leader who combines strong people leadership with deep technical judgment, and who thrives in environments where speed, clarity, and accountability matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Build high-performing teams: Establish clear, outcome-driven development plans for engineers and managers, and grow future technical and people leaders by creating opportunities for increased scope, ownership, and impact.

  • Coach and develop talent: Provide ongoing coaching through 1:1s, feedback, and active mentorship, raising the bar on both technical and leadership excellence.

  • Build a winning culture: Foster an environment grounded in ownership, trust, psychological safety, and continuous improvement. Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent in close partnership with Recruiting.

  • Drive technical excellence: Guide teams in the design, evolution, and operation of scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems — especially across multiple services and product domains. Dive deep into architecture discussions, review designs, and help teams navigate complex trade-offs.

  • Own delivery outcomes: Lead your teams across discovery, design, implementation, and production. Build and continuously refine a clear execution roadmap aligned with business and product goals.

  • Drive clarity in ambiguous spaces: Break down complex initiatives into actionable plans with measurable outcomes. Identify risks early, unblock teams, and make timely decisions to maintain momentum.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and other Engineering teams to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions. Communicate clearly and regularly with senior leaders, providing crisp updates on progress, risks, and trade-offs.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience: 7+ years managing software engineering teams, including senior engineers and/or managers, with a demonstrated track record of delivering high-impact, business-critical initiatives end-to-end.

  • Technical depth: Strong background designing and operating complex, distributed systems at scale. Proficiency in one or more of C# or Java

  • Leadership in ambiguity: Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguous problem spaces, balancing urgency with sound technical decision-making.

  • Cross-team coordination: Experience aligning stakeholders and coordinating work across multiple teams, domains, or systems toward shared outcomes.

  • Clear communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences — from ICs to executive leadership.

  • Modern engineering practices: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and performance monitoring.

  • AI & data-driven curiosity: Exposure to AI-enabled or data-driven systems, or a strong interest in building intelligent, customer-facing platforms in fast-paced environments.

AI Skills & Tooling

We are leaning into the future of AI-assisted development and love to work with engineers who do the same:

  • AI as a Teammate: Hands-on experience leveraging AI coding tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and streamline debugging workflows.

  • Engineering Judgment: Ability to critically evaluate and integrate AI-generated output, applying sound engineering judgment to ensure correctness, security, and maintainability.

  • AI Integration: Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) or AI services into production applications.

  • A Growth Mindset: Eagerness to stay current with the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and champion best practices for AI-assisted development within the team.

  • Build an AI-Forward Culture: Create an environment where AI-assisted development is a team standard, not an outlier — driving adoption across your teams, coaching managers on best practices, and ensuring AI tooling becomes embedded in how your org ships and scales.

Interview Process

Our process is designed to be a comprehensive assessment of the technical and leadership skills essential for this Player-Coach role. As part of our evaluation, you will be expected to complete live coding sessions in C# or Java.

Be Human With Us:
Being human isn’t about checking every box on a list. It’s about the experiences we have, people we meet, and the perspectives we share. So, if you have the skills but are hesitant to apply because of your background, apply anyway. We need amazing people like you to help us challenge the conventional and think differently about the problems that we’re solving. We’re in this together. Come be human, with us.

Use of AI Technology:

We use technology, including automated and AI-assisted tools, to support certain aspects of our recruitment process. These tools are designed to improve efficiency and enhance the candidate experience. AI tools are not used to make hiring decisions; all hiring decisions are made by our hiring teams.

What We Offer:

When you join our team, you’re not just accepting a job. You’re making a career move. Here’s how we’ll support you in doing some of the most impactful work of your career:

  • Flextime, recognition, and support for autonomous work: Flexible time off with ample learning and development opportunities to continue growing your career. We offer a comprehensive onboarding program, leadership training for Titans at all levels, and other programs and events. Great work is rewarded through Bonusly, peer-nominated awards, and more.
  • Holistic health and wellness benefits: Company-paid medical, dental, and vision (with 100% employer paid options and 90% coverage for dependents), FSA and HSA, 401k match, and telehealth options including memberships to One Medical.
  • Support for Titans at all stages of life: Parental leave and support, up to $20k in fertility services (i.e. IUI and IVF), surrogacy, and adoption reimbursement, on demand maternity support through Maven Maternity, free breast milk shipping through Maven Milk, pet insurance, legal advisory services, financial planning tools, and more.
