Why This Role Matters: 

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the development of high-quality mobile applications using React Native and native iOS technologies. You will architect scalable solutions, mentor team members, and drive technical excellence across our mobile platform. 

 

How You'll Contribute: 

 

Technical Leadership 

  • Design and implement robust mobile architectures using React Native and Swift/Objective-C 

  • Lead code reviews and establish mobile development best practices 

  • Make critical technical decisions regarding framework selection, performance optimization, and scalability 

  • Bridge native iOS modules with React Native when required for optimal performance 

 

Development & Delivery 

  • Build and maintain production-grade mobile applications for iOS platforms 

  • Optimize app performance, memory usage, and battery consumption 

  • Implement comprehensive testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E) 

  • Ensure seamless CI/CD pipeline integration for mobile deployments 

 

Collaboration & Mentorship 

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on mobile development practices 

  • Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver user-centric features 

  • Participate in technical planning and sprint ceremonies 

  • Document architectural decisions and technical specifications 

 

What We're Looking For: 

 

Technical Skills 

  • 5+ years of mobile development experience 

  • 3+ years of production React Native development 

  • Strong proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C 

  • Deep understanding of iOS SDK, UIKit, and SwiftUI 

  • Experience with native module development and bridging 

  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern ES6+ features 

  • Strong knowledge of mobile app lifecycle, memory management, and threading 

 

Platform Expertise 

  • Experience with App Store submission and release management 

  • Understanding of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines 

  • Knowledge of iOS security best practices and data encryption 

  • Familiarity with push notifications, deep linking, and background processing 

 

Tools & Practices 

  • Git version control and collaborative workflows 

  • RESTful APIs and GraphQL integration 

  • Testing frameworks 

  • CI/CD tools (Expo, GitLab) 

 

Nice to Have 

  • Experience with cross-platform development considerations 

  • Knowledge of Android development (Kotlin/Java) 

  • Contributions to open-source mobile projects 

  • Experience with performance monitoring tools (Firebase, Sentry) 

  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, VoiceOver) 

  • Familiarity with mobile analytics and A/B testing platforms 

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $180,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Benefits Highlights:  

Employees who meet benefit eligibility guidelines and work 30 hours or more weekly, have the ability to enroll in Group 1001’s benefits package.
