This is a team where creativity meets high craft, and where designers grow by building for ambitious customers.

What you’ll do

Brex is looking for a Sr. Motion Designer to join our Design team — a cross-disciplinary group of creatives that’s defining how Brex looks, moves, and communicates across every customer touchpoint. You’ll have the opportunity to shape and lead how Brex is perceived visually — not just through the work you create, but by developing the principles that guide how we use motion as a brand and product expression.

You’ll lead the creation of polished product demos, thoughtful UI animations, and compelling brand campaigns that bring clarity, energy, and emotional resonance to our platform. From launch videos and feature walkthroughs to educational content and social assets, your work will help define a motion language that feels distinctly Brex — and becomes essential viewing for modern finance and product teams.

This is a hands-on, collaborative role where you’ll partner closely with Marketing, Product, and Design to ensure our motion storytelling is strategic, consistent, and high-impact.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our San Francisco, Seattle, or New York office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require three days per week in office - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!

Responsibilities

  • Concept, storyboard, and execute polished product demos, launch videos, and promotional campaigns
  • Bring the Brex platform to life with thoughtful motion design across product UI, brand systems, and marketing
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Web, and Brand teams to ensure our stories are strategic, clear, and beautifully told
  • Evolve and maintain a consistent motion language for Brex across channels and formats
  • Edit interviews, testimonials, and narrative content with a focus on authenticity and pacing
  • Guide best practices around video production, recording, and animation workflows
  • Elevate our creative standards by giving and receiving thoughtful feedback
  • Contribute to a culture of design excellence, mentorship, and creative exploration

Requirements

  • 7+ years of motion design experience
  • A portfolio that demonstrates mastery of visual storytelling, UI motion, and brand animation
  • Deep experience with tools like After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Figma, and sound design basics
  • Familiarity with front-end animation (Rive, Framer, etc.)
  • Strong sense of composition, pacing, and visual hierarchy
  • Ability to translate complex product concepts into emotionally resonant video
  • Experience owning projects from idea through delivery with a high degree of autonomy
  • Clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional collaboration

Bonus points

  • Experience directing vendors or freelance motion designers
  • Fluency in 3D animation or illustration
  • Comfortable editing short-form social content, testimonials, and launch sizzles
  • Experience with AI video and visual creation tools

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $147,000- $187,000.  However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
