OVERVIEW:

The Senior Payroll & Equity Analyst supports payroll and equity operations by combining strong payroll knowledge with advanced data analytics and system expertise. This role is responsible for processing payroll and supporting equity administration while driving process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing data integrity across payroll and equity systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll and equity experience along with advanced Excel proficiency, strong reconciliation skills, and a mindset focused on automation and continuous improvement. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process accurate and timely weekly and semi-monthly multistate payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 
  • Support administration of equity compensation programs, including RSUs, stock options and employee stock purchase plans (ESPP), ensuring proper payroll processing and statutory compliance.
  • Upload and reconcile equity transactions between payroll systems and Equity Edge Online (EEO). 
  • Monitor equity transactions and ensure timely payroll inclusion and appropriate tax withholding. 
  • Maintain and audit equity and payroll data across systems to ensure completeness and accuracy, including reconciliation between payroll and equity platforms. 
  • Perform detailed payroll and equity reconciliations, including wage, tax, and benefit validation across multiple systems. 
  • Develop and maintain reconciliation workbooks, pivot-based reporting tools, and analytical dashboards to support payroll accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll and equity data discrepancies.
  • Drive process improvements by identifying opportunities to automate manual tasks and eliminate unnecessary workflow steps. 
  • Assist in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 validation related to equity compensation.  
  • Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Finance to ensure alignment of payroll processing, equity transactions, and financial reporting. 
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing payroll and equity documentation and reconciliation schedules. Maintain documentation of processes and assist in development of written SOPS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  •  Strong working knowledge of payroll processing, including multistate payroll requirements.
  • Knowledge of equity compensation programs such as RSUs, stock options, or ESPPs, including basic payroll tax implications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, nested formulas, data validation, conditional formatting, and large dataset reconciliation. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and reconcile data across multiple systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to identify process inefficiencies and recommend practical automation solutions.
  • Understanding of payroll tax fundamentals and wage reporting requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:

  • 4-6 years of progressive payroll experience, including experience with weekly, semi-monthly and other payroll cycles.
  • Demonstrated experience processing multistate payroll in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Hands-on experience working within HRIS and payroll systems, including data entry, reporting, reconciliation, and system to system validation. 
  • Experience supporting equity compensation administration preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience performing payroll reconciliation and cross-system data validations between, HRIS, payroll and equity administration platforms. 
  • Training to be completed per the training plan for this position as maintained in the document control system
  • The training requirements on TRN-10007 Insider Trading Policy, TRN-10008 Global Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and TRN-10009 Code of Business Conducts and Ethics must be diligently completed within 30 days from the hiring date and on an annual basis

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred but not required
  • Microsoft Excel Certification (Microsoft Office Specialist – Excel Associate or Expert) preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including pivot tables, advanced formulas (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, nested functions), data validations, conditional formatting, and reconciliation of large datasets. 
  • Strong proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems, including report generation, payroll process, and system troubleshooting. 
  • Experience working with equity administration platform such as Etrade EEO or similar systems preferred. 
  • Ability to quickly learn and optimize payroll, HRIS and reporting systems.
