About the role

The Senior People Partner is a trusted advisor to leaders and a critical driver of organizational performance, leadership effectiveness, and workforce health. This role operates as an embedded business partner, owning complex employee relations, coaching leaders through high-stakes people decisions, and proactively shaping how teams are built, led, and held accountable.


The Senior People Partner moves beyond execution into influence: anticipating risk, connecting people data to business outcomes, and helping Riot scale with clarity, consistency, and integrity. The Senior People Partner ensures Riot’s growth does not come at the expense of culture, fairness, or performance. This is not a reactive HR role; this is a strategic leadership role within the People Operations model.


What you'll do

Strategic Leader Partnership & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and team performance.
  • Anticipate people risks, capability gaps, and cultural issues before they become business problems.
  • Lead strategic conversations on engagement, retention, workforce health, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Align talent and people decisions with Riot’s business strategy and operating goals.

Employee Relations & Risk Management

  • Own high-complexity, high-risk employee relations matters, including investigations, performance issues, and sensitive workplace concerns.
  • Ensure outcomes are legally sound, consistent, and people-centered.
  • Coach leaders on proactive, preventative people practices and accountability expectations.
  • Serve as an escalation point and mentor for People Partners on complex or high-stakes cases.

Performance Management & Talent Calibration

  • Lead performance calibration for assigned client groups.
  • Coach leaders on expectation-setting, feedback, documentation, and performance differentiation.
  • Translate performance insights into clear development actions, talent decisions, and risk mitigation.
  • Partner on succession planning and talent risk management for critical roles.

Leadership Coaching & Influence

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with leaders across the organization.
  • Facilitate difficult conversations and alignment-building discussions within and across teams.
  • Shape leadership behavior, team dynamics, and decision-making through coaching and influence.
  • Act as a stabilizing presence during periods of change, growth, or conflict.

Culture, Engagement & Workforce Health

  • Reinforce Riot’s expectations for accountability, clarity, and performance at scale.
  • Identify engagement risks and partner with leaders on meaningful action plans.
  • Use employee engagement data, ER data, and workforce insights to guide leadership decisions.

Program Leadership & COE Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and L&D on people strategy and program execution.
  • Ensure consistent adoption of performance, compensation, and talent processes.
  • Provide feedback to COEs based on frontline leadership and employee insights


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR or People Partner experience, including ownership of complex employee relations.
  • Deep expertise in employee relations, performance management, and leadership coaching.
  • Strong executive communication skills and sound judgment in high-stakes situations.
  • Ability to see patterns, connect dots, and translate insight into action.
  • Comfort operating with autonomy, ambiguity, and organizational complexity.
  • Experience supporting fast-moving, operationally complex environments (manufacturing, energy, data centers, tech, or similar) strongly preferred.
