The Senior Pet Wrangler Specialist position will be part of the Pet Talent team that is dedicated to working with all the pet talent for both video and photography. This position works with the pet talent, pet parents, and other Studio team members. A big focus of this position is building the confidence and skills of the pets in the Studio through positive reinforcement training and observing and acknowledging animal behavior/stress in a fast-paced environment.
The Senior Pet Wrangler Specialist will be the voice and advocate of the pet talent and will communicate any changes/updates to the on-set team, as well as appropriate leadership. Additionally, you will play a key role in the training and education of the pet team that has a diverse set of experience and skills. You must be comfortable conducting extensive research on new animal behavior training and techniques. The Pet Wrangler will also follow all Pet Talent Team procedures/protocols.
Chewy Studios is a dynamic studio that creates photos and videos for web content, social media, TV commercials and more. In most of the photos and videos, the main stars are pet talent. The Pet Wrangler will work closely with pet talent but will also have strong interpersonal skills while working with other Studio team members.

What You'll Do:
- Utilize knowledge of species and breed specific behaviors to encourage pets to present desirable behaviors for the camera
- Note any changes in behavior and communicate to Manager, Pet Handling
- Identify and report any safety concerns on or off set
- Builds and presents educational presentations for pet team and studio
- Coach wranglers on new training techniques and approaches
- Takes initiative in advancing their knowledge and skills on animal behavior and training concepts
- Update pet casting database with pet photos and behavioral information
- Complete studio testing with new pets to determine their eligibility for casting
- Network with potential pet parent contacts for casting
- Assist in creating a stress-free environment for pets on set by advocating for their needs
- Conduct training sessions with cats and dogs using positive reinforcement techniques
- Write training plans for shaping new behaviors
- Communicate with internal teams to set pets up for success on set and propose alternative solutions when needed
- Supervise all interactions with the pets to ensure safety to pets and people in the Studio
- Build a positive relationship with pet parents
- Set up, break down, and clean pet holding areas
- Assist Pet Talent Team, with other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
- 3+ year of Professional Animal Experience
- Must be comfortable around all animals including cats, dogs, horses, reptiles, and rodents
- No animal allergies
