Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Senior Prinicpal Systems Engineer - Triton Production to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
In this role, you will support the SEIT Production IPT Lead by effectively coordinating across both programs and IPTs to ensure Triton Production, Retrofit Air Vehicles, and Ground Segments are delivered to our customer on schedule and in configuration. This involves supporting multiple Systems Engineering disciplines across the Systems Engineering “V”. The position requires on site work a minimum of 2 days per week.
Essential Duties include:
- Coordinating & collaborating with SEIT Production IPT Lead
- Technical support and interfacing with SEIT technical teams, including Integration, Cyber, Safety and E3
- Coordinating with Triton Sustainment team for Engineering Change Process (ECP) releases and updates
- Supporting Document and CDRL release in accordance with Production and Retrofit contracts
- Conducting audits of lab and fielded systems to ensure configuration compliance
- Supporting Production operations at direction of Program Leadership
- Documenting and improving processes
- Heavy work within Microsoft Excel, using its tools to optimize workflows
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 4 years of relevant military / professional experience
- Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
- Must have experience in or with Systems Engineering and Design processes
- Must have experience with configuration and change management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project organizational skills
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Experience acting as Control Account Manager (CAM)
- Experience working on Production activities on a large program
- Familiarity with TeamCenter
- Experience developing proposals
- Experience with the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
- Demonstrated cross functional leadership and coordination skills
- Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills
- Project organizational skills and personnel leadership skills – both direct and non-direct reports
- Understanding of program document tree hierarchy and Manufacturing Engineering hierarchy
- Active US Government Top Secret clearance
